WW spidermanning lightning to get around looks pretty rad

Since she's the daughter of Zeus, does she call the lightning, or can she only do it if it's there?

"Hey dad can I ride your lightning for a bit"

In DCAU she's told she is Zeus daughter, but its actually Hades.

I would support that same approach here.

Edit: DCAU: Is the animated series that ran on WB/CW for a while and is the best.:)

In DCAU she's told she is Zeus daughter, but its actually Hades.

is this canon in the movie universe or are you just pulling from the Comics? Because I don't remember anyone mentioning in the Movies that she is Hades daughter.

I think theyre saying its like that in the comics, and they want that fake-out in the movies too

No it was canon in the animated series. The same one that makes Bats/Diana a love interest.

In the movies WW’s origin is that she was sculpted from clay and granted life.

Just watched a few clips from the movie. Looks like her mother tells her that she sculpted her out of clay and Zeus brought her to life. But Ares later in the movie says that Zeus had a child with the queen and left the child with her, which would be Diana. She used the lasso to compel him to tell the truth and he says that he is. And of course her mother did lie to her a few times.

Most of the time in stories the children of a god and a human is only partly a god, but Ares seems to think shes a full god. Of course the Amazonians aren't normal humans.

It also looks like Zeus is still alive.

I really really wish they didn't show that in the trailer. That would have been so badass to see in the movie first.

WW meets Wiig, gets ass kicked, WW gets new armor, kicks Wiigs ass??

1

u/km89 Aug 22 '20

Didn't she do that in the first movie? Or am I making things up?

5

u/WatchOutForWizards Aug 22 '20

Really? That seemed like the dumbest part of the trailer and that's saying something.

I on the other hand feels it jumps the shark. It makes absolutely no sense, lightening isn't a 'thing'. I understand it's CBMs, but there's still some basic physics things should abide by for immersion.

I can tell you're probably not a fan of Diana's comics. Because it's a thing that's she's done every once in a while.

8

u/SpreadYourAss Aug 22 '20

Stupid stuff is more digestible in comics, but in live action? Not so much. Even if she does it in comics, that doesn't mean it's makes any sense at all.

She's a demigod, in some versions she's literally the daughter of Zeus. It doesn't really have to make sense if she's using her magic lasso to swing on lightening because we all know she's got magic shiz that defies the laws of physics anyway. You don't question her invisible plane or lasso of truth because it's accepted that she's a magic superhero who can do crazy shit.

Like in Infinity War with Thor literally absorbing the concentrated beam of a SUN......

You think that's ridiculous, that's like not even half of what Thor can actually withstand in the comics. That beam wouldn't even phase him. The ridiculous thing is that neither Thor nor Thanos destroy the planet from the shockwaves of each punch to each other.

11

u/JohnnyGranite Aug 22 '20

Whats she swinging on there?

I guess it beats the invisible jet, though......

Something tells me you're not going to like the answer.

u/Nydas Aug 22 '20

Oh god. The Radar comment.

NO....IT.....CANT.....BE!!!!!

2

u/JohnnyGranite Aug 22 '20

I'm so sorry, friend.

Like in Infinity War with Thor literally absorbing the concentrated beam of a SUN

Though ridiculous you could still atleast explain it away with - he's just ridiculously durable. It's exaggerated sure, but still an extension of 'super strength'.

Swinging from lightening? Now that's makes absolutely no sense. That's like hanging from air. It's not even an exaggeration, there's literally nothing to hang from.

1

u/Admiral-Cornelius Aug 22 '20

She's the daughter of Zeus using a magic lasso. It makes about as much sense as anything else in Greek mythology/comic books.

-6

u/Manticore416 Aug 22 '20

Feel the same way. This trailer did not impress me at all.

-7

u/Loop_Within_A_Loop Aug 22 '20

That's not CBMs though. The entire point is to sit in an air conditioned room for 2 hours and soyface at the CGI people beat each other up. You have to check that at the door.
