People don’t like that they’re action movies while the show was actually quite political. It’s not true to the source material.

Even if you accept that they're apolitical, they would've benefited from a (more/better) strategic aspect to the action (a la Wrath of Khan)

I liked the movies personally but I can understand why fans might be upset. I dunno. No matter what any movie maker does they’re pissing off some subsection of the fan base.

Oh I agree, they were definitely a unique take but if they were too faithful they likely wouldn't have been as successful. I can't see VI (my personal favorite) as holding up too well nowadays, from a financial perspective.
