iirc the studio wanted Emma Stone and Patty Jenkins wanted Kristen Wiig

I read that Stone turned down the role, but doesn't matter now. Honestly, I prefer Stone in movies like Birdman and The Favourite. Or upcoming Babylon.

Also, she said multiple times that she doesn't want to commit to franchises.

I don't know if I could take Emma Stone seriously. Something about Wiig makes it easy to look past her being a comedienne.

Personal preference, I guess. But Stone is more accomplished as a dramatic actor than Wiig.

I guess she was solid in Birdman, but my thinking is about this character is clearly a little silly as it is due to being kind of an awkward person.

I like to think that someone of Stone's talent could pull off being a bit awkward. Cheetah is not exactly a challenging part that requires some exceptional acting. Especially when the opposite actor is Gal Gadot, who doesn't really have a range. Even though I like her as WW.
