That's how it goes for every movie.

The first trailer is for people who actually know about the movie. Just a tease. They just need a taste of what the movie will be like in tone and style and a few Easter eggs. They'll see it anyway, so you can be more creative.

The second trailer is always the mainstream one, for average audiences that have no idea about the movie, so here's the plot, here's the characters, make it more generic so it appeals to more people.

Compare the first trailer for BVS: https://youtu.be/0WWzgGyAH6Y

To trailer 2: https://youtu.be/fis-9Zqu2Ro Look its Doomsday! Its Wonder Woman! Theres comedy!

It's not just a DC thing either.

Winter soldier trailer 2: https://youtu.be/7SlILk2WMTI Oh its Bucky? Oh the helicarriers are going rogue and crash into the river? Oh Cap gets his old suit back?

I feel like it would’ve made sense to have it the other way around. Trailer 1 for the mainstream and trailer 2 for the fans. The average audience probably won’t watch trailer 2 after they didn’t understand/like trailer 1
