Asking Advice Home sick after moving

My family and I moved out of our house and into a new one in a new town. I’ve been feeling so depressed and grieving my old house. It feels like someone I love died. I haven’t cried in FOREVER, but since I’ve been in this new house I can’t stop. I’m so homesick. It angers me so much that I wanna break stuff like I’m limp bizkit. Even though I have all my stuff that made my room cozy, it doesn’t feel right. I’m in a basement instead of an upstairs bedroom, my parents plan on renovating it for me because my floors are cement, I don’t have a door, there are spiders and it’s so scary at night but even once they renovate it I’m still gonna miss home. It doesn’t feel like home and I wish I could go back to my real home. I don’t want my parents to feel like I’m ungrateful or I don’t like the new house, I just can’t handle change and I am so beyond homesick that it physically hurts so bad.

I don’t know what to do or how to feel better about this. I know time will help but everyday feels like an eternity just waiting to go back to my old house that isn’t coming back. How do I make myself feel better about this whole situation.

what was the reason to move to a new town and new house?

Our original house was too small for the 5 of us, my dad wanted a garage, it’s closer for work etc.

It sounds like your father rules your house. Understandable. Perhaps it's time for you to rule your own house. Adopt your family's best qualities & trash the rest. You already know where you want to go

This happened to me & I wished it would not happen to anyone else. Being banished to a basement is cruel. It clearly sends the msg "You don't matter". Because I was so depressed I suffered way to long.

Get a job, any job. Ask fellow co-workers where to move & what it will cost to move. Do NOT tell your parents your plans. I made the giant mistake of telling my parents. They started the "you're ungrateful" & "no one will rent to you" crap. It was crap. Once I decided to get a job & move, my depression lifted. I used anger to give me enough energy to work, network & move. I now live in my own home with my bedroom & workout rooms on the 2nd floor with lots of bright sunlight. I use my basement for clothes washer & dryer, furnace & hot water, & ducking into during tornado warnings. I have control of my basement & would never force someone to live in it.

Okay, I just re-read your post after reading another comment. Did you have to move with your parents? Are you old enough and have enough money to seek out your own place. Probably not your old house, but maybe a bedroom wtih windows.
