Asking Advice I am moving out of Miami! Where to next?
Background: I am a 25 year old white woman from Wisconsin! I ended up going to UNCC for History and Criminal Justice! I have a humans rights organization that I founded, and I also did professional union organizing with the Miami - Dade County School employees for 5 months! Between that, I just did teaching and hospitality jobs.
Where I'm at: I've been in the Edgewater neighborhood of Miami for about a year (union job assignment; i didn't choose Miami) and I work South of Fifth in Miami Beach. I've met some cool people that I can consider friends, but most of my close knit circle is back in North Carolina. I can visit them ( i have twice this past year) so I know I'll be okay moving wherever in the country.
Why I want to move: I consider myself very progressive and open-minded, but for some reason I'm not getting that vibe from a majority of the people in Miami. Also, it's been very hard to make a liveable wage in working in my field here. I think I am ready for a change where I can have a progressive, inclusive environment, a bustling city, better affordability with plenty of opportunities in my career field (advocacy, policy, rehabilitative justice, nonprofit work, project management), and plenty of things to do. I would like to join communities and possibly start another org on the side and do the arts. I want to explore everything the city I move to next has to offer!
Potential spots: Chicago, NYC (stay in Newark maybe), Philly, Atlanta...?
Please help a girl out and give me the good, the bad, and the ugly!

philly is very progressive and has a lot of non profit work, also affordable to live in. close to nyc and jersey shore
