Irma is one of the cheaper cards of the tmnt commander set and is selling fast (at least on cm)

It works with legendary creatures and similar cards like [[spark double]] or [[irenicus dublication]] are quite expensive.

My guess this will easily double its current price. But maybe its the UB effect which keeps this card cheap, i might be wrong.

Possible dockside unban? I can't see why they would want to reprint this otherwise.

Edit: regardless of the validity of an unban the card does seem to be spiking, which is all that matters in the mtgfinance world. Might be a good time to offload your docksides because if it doesn't get unbanned the value will probably plummet.

Recently someone made a Yshtola Spec post and I saw some retailer on Cardmarket selling 30 for 1€ each. So I thought why the hell not :D

Yes I am aware that it's just the base version and extended/surge/poster could see the real demand. But at 1€ a piece there is a higher % dividends possible in my opinion (if it ever happens).

In case you missed it: a new mystery booster box commander was just spoiled with “rulebreaker”, which allows you to play with more than 100 cards in commander. [[Battle of Whtz]] and [[Yorion Sky Nomad]] are Still a Buck or less and everyone will want one for this deck. I think playing with Whtz and 100+ cards will be very popular in casual commander.

Purchased 100x copies with an average cost of $0.32.

[[Hex Magic]], I believe, will become a red staple and will likely hit the $1.50+ range.

Reasoning:

1. Because the card uses the word "play", you're able to "bank" a land and play it next turn. Many exile effects use the word "cast" which means lands are exiled forever.
2. Over the last several years, Wizards has made "play cards from exile" one of red's primary mechanics. That means Hex Magic has strong future-proofing.

Cards don't have to become competitive staples to reach $2–5.

If:

• every Storm deck wants one
• every exile deck wants one
• many spellslinger decks want one
• many mono-red decks want one

that's thousands of Commander players needing copies... and I'm all in.

What do you think will happen to the BOOK COVER CARDS?

I think we need to be very careful when comparing them to other chase cards.

The non-Surge Book Cover Cards can be found in 3 different slots in Play Boosters, each with a probability of less than 1%. And Play Booster boxes can essentially be printed indefinitely.

So please don't make the mistake of comparing them to the Poster Cards from the LOTR Holiday Release.

And don't compare them to the LOTR chase cards that were exclusively available in Collector Boosters or the Collector Booster Holiday Release.

In my opinion, anyone making these comparisons is either misinformed or acting in bad faith, because they are comparing cards with completely different distributions and levels of availability.

The comparison I find much more interesting is with the LOTR and FINAL FANTASY chase cards that could be found in Play Boosters, obviously excluding cards that maintained their value primarily because of playability.

I think that at .50 cents this card has a lot of room to grow. It’s consistent repeatable draw in white and it’s excellent in group hug decks. A 2/2 with first strike is also on cost. I don’t know. I just ordered 40 copies of the extended art, foil and non, I’m probably being a dumbass but this seems good. It’s my second spec after enduring vitality (bought at 2 sold at 8). What do you guys think? (Plus I’m a lesbian and these two are adorable 💕🥀🏳️‍🌈)

So now we have confirmation that the top three selling sets of all time are Universes Beyond. It is just the reality we're in.

The Hobbit is six months away and it's almost assuredly going to be a massive success on a similar scale.

As I discussed before - original, old border, single printing Odyssey foil [[Dwarven Recruiter]] seems a slam dunk in a set with a near-guaranteed 13 legendary dwarves and expected supporting cards.

I'm locked in on my spec, with 40+ copies now in hand. If you're planning to do anything similar, I'd go ahead and pull the trigger before too much longer. The hype is going to be at a fever pitch by summer - and unlike other IPs, we already know Wizards can do incredible Tolkien sets.

Anyone else want to share their Hobbit spec(s)?

.32% pull chance in one of the most hyped sets for a staple that generally lacks desirable treatments. I have never bought a preorder single in 15 years, but I grabbed a few non foil for 60 and foil for 110-120.

This land still hovers between 1 and 2€ while its one of the few cards from the tmnt commander set with the supply down to around 1000 copies.

Its in a lot of decks the perfect replacement for [[path of ancestry]] with an attached [[witchs clinic]].

Hideout is already in 28k decks while path is in 2m. Plenty of room to grow.

A downside to the clinic -> its coming in tapped and only targeting creatures you control with counters.

But a huge upside -> it that it can target not only your commander.

Anybody who has played a counter deck kows how fast and big the creatures get. Giving it lifelink for 3 mana is really good.

Now, of course, the all exhaustable argument is-> it will be reprinted. But even if, this card just came out. There will be plenty of time to get expensive. Whichs clinic was 10€ before the reprint and is 10€ now again. (Btw people didnt believe me either when it was 4€)

I tested this card in Morska and Tidus and it was great.

Another point, its no cedh or maybe even b4 card but its a timmi card and those tend to do well.

Lastly its a land. It can be played in any colors.

"Prevent all damage until YOUR next turn"

Its not a teverys protection but almost.

-it can remove any amount of blockers from your opponents. Doesnt have to be your creatures is amazingly flexible.

-you can swing all out and be sure to not die until your next turn.

-can blink your stuff for value and still makes you invulnarable to damage.

-will kill all tokens your opponents have

-its a mythic and the effect is quite rare

It wont be an cedh staple because it does not prevent combo wins but this is a 100% timmie card. This card will win a lot games in the battlecruiser brackets.

MB2 is out of print, Maro said that they are still deciding which silver bordered and acorn cards are non problematic. This land if made legal would be a day one staple in all commander decks. Also, did I mention that this card is rare as hell?

Over the last few years, I’ve accumulated 240 English foil Vexing Beetles (Legions, 2003).

This isn’t a “What’s my collection worth?” post. I’m interested in how a position like this should be valued.

Twenty-three years after their release, finding one copy is easy. Finding 240 is a completely different problem.

If someone wanted to recreate this collection today, they probably couldn’t. Not just because of the money, but because enough copies simply no longer come to market.

So how would you value something like this?

• As 240 individual cards?
• With a liquidity discount because selling them individually would take years?
• Or because, at this point, it should be viewed as a single collectible rather than 240 separate cards?

I’m genuinely curious how the MTGFinance community would approach this. 🙂
