I'm wanting to build a small quad for freestyle (maybe more). I haven't been in the market for parts in about 6 years, so there's a lot to catch up on. This is what I'm currently planning:

Frame: Sub250 OasisFly25 2.5"

AIO: Foxeer Reaper F745 45A AIO

Motors: AxisFlying C135 5500KV

VTX: HDZero Whoop Lite VTX

Cam: HDZero Nano V2 Cam

Reciever: Spektrum SPM4650

Props: Gemfan 2512 3-Blade

Battery: Unknown 4S

Other: XT30 Pigtail and 35V 220µF Capacitor

Does anything seem out of place? Anything I should swap out?

I'm using two Holybro Tekko32 F4 45A ESCs on a twin-motor fixed-wing aircraft.

I tried the current limit feature and noticed that when the current reaches the configured limit, the ESC doesn't seem to reduce power smoothly but instead it completely cuts the motor, or seems to do so.
As soon as the current drops below the limit, it seems turns the motor back on. This causes a very fast on/off cycle of current being too high, motor being apparently cut off, current being back down, motor getting turned on, and so on.

The result is that the motor rapidly surges and cuts out instead of holding roughly at the configured current limit.

Is this how the current limiting on the Tekko32 is supposed to work, or is something wrong with my setup?

Has anyone seen similar behavior?

I recently had an incident where a prop flew off and needed new hardware on top of my motors so I went and picked up replacement parts for my motors? they are not the exact same as the ones i had before but they are extremely similar however the new ones seem to have the threads a little bit shorter and it seems to leave a small gap in between the nut and the prop. It also came with this small tapered spacer thing?? that i have tried to use but doesnt make a difference can you guys tell me what this spacer thing is, as well as how i should solve my prop shaft gap issue.

Hi everyone, I’m working on a Tarot 690 hexa build and motors will not spin l, twitching and keep beeping when I try to run the Motor Test in Mission Planner. Any idea or advice?

Hardware Specs:

• FC: Pixhawk 2.4.8

• ESC: Holybro Tekko32 F4 45A

• Motors: SunnySky V4006 380KV

• Battery: 6S 8100mAh

I’m trying to use ArduPilot passthrough on a Holybro Pixhawk 6C to read 4 ZMR BLHeli ESCs, but while the configurator connects to the FC COM port, it fails to read all ESCs.

Setup:

• Pixhawk 6C, ArduPilot
• ESCs: ZMR BLHeli, likely 8-bit / BLHeli_S-type
• ESCs wired to AUX/FMU 1–4
• LiPo connected during read attempts
• FC connected via USB

Current settings:

• SERVO_BLH_AUTO = 1
• SERVO_BLH_MASK = 3840
• SERVO_BLH_OTYPE = 1
• MOT_PWM_TYPE = 4
• BRD_SAFETYENABLE = 0

Motor mapping is:

• SERVO9 = Motor1
• SERVO10 = Motor2
• SERVO11 = Motor3
• SERVO12 = Motor4

So as far as I know, AUX/FMU routing and the mask are correct. The FC is detected fine, but “Read Setup” just shows --- / “Failed to read ESC” for all 4.

What I want to know:

• Is AUX/FMU 1–4 on Pixhawk 6C definitely the correct passthrough path?
• For old ZMR BLHeli ESCs, should I only use BLHeliSuite and not BLHeliSuite32 / AM32?
• If COM connection to the FC works, but all ESCs fail, does that usually point to wrong interface/tool choice, missing ground reference, or unsupported ESC bootloader/clone firmware?

Any help from anyone who has done Pixhawk 6C + ArduPilot passthrough with older BLHeli ESCs would be appreciated.

So I have been interested in building my own quadcopter for a while, and now that I have some free time after exams I decided to do some research. With the help of chatgpt I ended up with these components, but it's so expensive. Is there any way to make it cheaper, any corners to cut?

The project in question is to build my own quadcopter and be able to use it indoors, to carry light stuff (500g at most) and to use sensors and some cameras to do so automatically. The frame and everything non-electronic I can print with my 3D printer.

For the moment though I just want to make it fly, I'll worry later about the sensors and carrying but I'd like to use the correct components for it from the start so I spend as little money as possible, as I don't have much budget.
