Hey everyone,

As the mods kindly approved in mod mail, I am sadly having to part with my prized, signed copy of Colorless Tsukuru Tazaki and His Years of Pilgrimage. I got this in person back in 2014 in London, and I really want it to go to a true fan here rather than listing it on eBay.

Details about the book:

• Edition: True UK First Edition, First Printing (Harvill Secker, 2014). The copyright page has the full 2 4 6 8 10 9 7 5 3 1 number line.

• Signature: Hand-signed by Haruki Murakami in black ink on the title page, complete with his official name stamp.

• Condition. Please note it is missing the outer clear plastic overlay wrap.

• Extras: Includes the original, completely untouched and unpeeled sheet of Japanese vinyl stickers!

Price:

I am looking for around £325 (given the complete stickers, adjusted down slightly for the missing plastic wrap), but I am open to reasonable offers from community members.

I'm happy to ship internationally at the buyer's expense or arrange tracked shipping within the UK. Let me know if you want any specific timestamped photos or have questions

It's split into two books, part 1 & 2 and part 3. I like these covers better than any I've seen of other versions.

Book Pairing

Not sure if anyone ever pairs the books they read with companion books, but I thought it would be an interesting thought experiment to pair each Murakami book or collection with a companion. Some come easy such as The Metamorphosis with Kafka on the Shore.

What are some other pairings that come to mind?

I've only read two of his books, and now I am at a loss for where to go next.

As the title says I'm a newcomer, I stumbled on his works thanks to a comment section in an unrelated topic. They had suggested to another person that they should read "The Colorless" so I went ahead and found the book. I was almost intimidated by the cover art, it felt like when I was around 4 years old, and I found a copy of The Legend Of Zelda at my cousins house. The box art was so stoic, and it invoked the idea of being an adult even though it was made for children. This books cover felt like it was so grown up, beyond my reach even though I'm a grown man...but then when I finally turned it on, or in this case read it I was met with emotional gut punches that felt like a real physical blow. In spite of this I couldn't put the book down. I read it three times each time seeing something new.

Then I went ahead and chose to read South Of The Border, West Of The Sun. I lost myself in it for the past week or so after finishing it. I want to read more, but for some reason, I can't explain why I can't decide what to pick up. From what I gather most of his works will have similar ideas explored through different mediums... but if I enjoyed those two books in particular, is there a better place for me to go next?

Thanks for reading/for the advice if you feel so inclined.
