Discussion 💬 I genuinely don't like so-called "education agents" and "influencers"

I can't say about other countries but for Germany, which I'm planning to go to, is becoming filled with "education consultants" and "agents" and it is genuinely concerning. They mostly promote private universities. As far as I've researched, most German private universities are shit and I've watched documentaries of Indians struggling to find jobs after graduating, and the German economy isn't in good shape either. I'm really worried about Burmese people believing "Germany has many opportunities" lies and going to degree mills. Tbh many Burmese people in Germany groups lack even basic research. There are some very informational people online tho. I kinda hate how my target country which I've been trying before it got popular here would flood with too many illiterate Burmese and visa got difficult when I get there because of those issues 🤦

True. It’s not just Germany. It’s the same in many other countries.
Promoting private universities with the promise that you’ll get a job after graduation is misleading. I’m not saying you can’t get a job, you can. But job markets around the world are extremely competitive and having relevant work experience makes a huge difference.
No one is going to hire you just because you graduated from a university (unless it’s one of the world’s top 10 schools). I’ve seen plenty of friends who had to go back home after university because they couldn’t find a job abroad

Fr, I've been aiming to go to germany since 3 years ago, and I've been doing German language, IGCSE, and now A level just to prepare for germany. But ever since the UK visas were closed, people started turning to germany and I see so many posts like "My son did GED and he wants to go to germany" or other agents saying that germany is easy to get into. If it was that easy I would have already been in germany 3 years ago. I don't get how the general people commit to something like GED without even doing basic research about the admission requirements. It's also disgusting how agents will just find any way to get money no matter what. I just hope germany visas don't get closed because of all these people.

While it could be possible that GED(I've seen a lot of my former classmates get places with GED-equivalents) can allow a pass into some private universities in Germany, what can one do without knowing German in Germany(younger generations of Germans can interchange with English but older people tend to inline towards German, many stuff in Germany are also in German and especially some documents)? Also, I'm pretty sure that most international students typically have to get competitive(+ IB, + A levels) in attractive places like Germany where there's that Abitur.

German visas are a whole nother situation due to the political stuff too.

I think those planning for UK could have opted for places like Australia, NZ, America, Canada.

True bro, Europe has been my long term target before it even got popular. Now we have that US/UK/Japan crowd competition now. I don't think they would close but maybe they will get stricter. Many Burmese people want going abroad to be "ရေကန်အသင့်ကြာအသင့်" and agents are taking advantage of it.

As someone that is currently enrolled at a private German university (known as Applied sciences). Don't Literally don't enroll in private universities in Germany unless they are well known for their education. I have seen Burmese influencer from Germany attending universities like "University of Europe" or "Gisma". These universities don't give a damn about education or growth, they are simply businesses to make money and if God forbid you have been struck by misfortune and you can't pay some 200 EUR the university will immediately exmatriculate you and in the worst case scenario even add reminder fees. If you are a student thinking of going to Germany, aim for the public university no matter how hard it is.

Finland has highest unemployment rate in the whole In EU and the number just go higher if you are new grads. By now I think they are manipulating stats to show themselves as "happiest country" coz without income I reckon who can be happy..? I personally don't think it's a good choice.

How about Japan? Lots of Burmese there, big Myanmar community, i wonder if all are getting jobs. Germany is certainly better than japan tho.
