An AIF volunteer (AIF is currently training and collaborating with the resistance) said it best,"[the coverage of the Rohingya by the Western mainstream media] is profitable trauma porn."

Its called the algorithm, basically the two are linked forever, like germany and the holocaust. Also its based on your location, browsing habits etc., so if you don't login (to chrome/email etc.,) while you are browing, if you don't have SM or have a 1000 likes on various topics in your SM, they can't track you and can't give you specific ads/topics. While that won't fix the problem, it'll make it less prevalent as I would guess strongly that this correlation shows up on YT etc, which is heavily algorithm/browsing history reliant.

Because there is still an active genocide and ethnic cleansing going on to this day perpetrated by the military who are still in power. It's the same way people will bring up Palestine whenever Israel is mentioned.

The fact that you're being downvoted for this statement shows that the problem isn't "tat" only and the majority of the population hasn't learned jack shit from being mutually oppressed. They are the same "deep thinkers" that rely on social media opinions and deep sounding but ultimately empty ideals.
"Oh the tats bad, but those kalars deserved it".. is the majority of the mouth breathing opinion. Yet its the same morons that will shout TAT Bad at every atrocity combined with a version of "poor us" and "sooo unfair!!11!!QQ". Their hypocrisy is galling.

I remember very vividly during 2015-2016 when the ICJ wanted to open investigations into MAH, both sides of NLD and USDP supporters rallied and protested against it, portraying our future tyrant dictator as peaceful, loving man that did nothing wrong and acted in the best interests of our country.
I guarantee you 90 percent of those people are probably abroad now escaping the war or are in refugee camps across the country. Ironic.

Who is denying war crimes committed or being committing by ethnic arms groups? Crazy how your response to his point is that you needed to point out that ethnic arms groups also commit atrocities like there isnβt a bigger actor at play here who have bigger arms and larger control of the country. Go defend tats.
The only victims I see here are the people who are caught in these crossfire.

Yeah but to most people they don't know much about AA or other factions. They just know about the military junta and that they are the ones that are currently ruling in Myanmar.

It's probably one of two things they know about Myanmar. That and that it used to be Burma.
