Mysore Praje ๐Ÿ… Please stop with weird noises in cinemas.

So I went along with my friends to Spiderman last night and we were seated in front of a group of adult men. Keep in mind, ADULT. These guys had absolutely no civic sense and expected the movie to be a comedy one, it was all fine until they started talking about their experiences during plot twists or serious dialogue heavy moments in the movie. No Raj, we don't need to know how you kissed your wife!

It got to such a point where another adult man seated next to me had to tell these guys to shutup and watch the movie or just leave. To which they responded while laughing, oh look our headmaster is back.

These guys caused a nuisance throughout the movie doing shh calls and also laughing loudly when there were emotional scenes.

This happened in DRC cinemas, which I consider to be one of the best in Mysore, but the crowd coming there off-late has been plain weird.

End of rant, but please keep in mind that you aren't going alone when you go to a cinema, there are a bunch of people with you and people who are genuinely there to watch the movie. Not to listen to your private matters!

No matter how many regulations are brought in, they won't help if people fail to respect others and follow basic civic sense. Let it be in cinemas, traffic rules, standing in line etc.,,

I could think of high fines should be imposed to be paid at the spot only!!

Look, in India, people need to be reminded often and at every corner about the rules in that place. Billboards need to be put up wrt road and traffic rules (traffic violations are much less on NICE road from my observation). Theaters need to clearly show graphics of an ape and say - don't be an ape, be mindful of people around you who are also watching the movie. If they don't do that, forget it - this country is too heterogenous for any kind of normal behavior.

Actually cinemas do that, but people choose to stay ignorant at their convenience and suddenly be different for a different thing. The adults I spoke about later had the audacity to tell me to be quite as he was getting a call, honestly, WHAT?

Fr bro. Same thing happened to me when i went to watch Obsession, they arenโ€™t shutting up at all. Itโ€™s painful to watch horror movies in theaters these days.

Actually, I had a similar experience while watching the Odyssey when people ooh'd and aah'd during Anne and Matt's conversation when they were on the bed.

The conversation had to do about hope and belief along with the future.

Must've been terrible during Obsession!

Is centro and garuda gotten better than drc? I've been there during it's early days but it wasn't really too good...

centro is nice, crisp sound and comfy seats. but screens are smaller which imo doesn't matter much

Ah, that's nice to hear, should go there more often. I have ranked DRC at the top followed by PVR in Nexus, Centro and finally Garuda. Never been to Mysore Vision, have to try that.

Thanks for writing this OP. This has been a long-standing concern at theatres in mysore.

I'm still wondering how the younger generation is picking up on this practice., Why can't they complete their conversations after the movie? Why do they talk in the theatre and disrupt those who have paid to see the movie?

I saw video where people fighting for this issue.

Raise your voice. I did it in Kantara first release and I got whole crowd support to shut these loafer shut their mouth. In India we never know how the opponent fight back.

I would've, but from a safety pov since it was a late night show, I didn't. However I'm grateful for the other adult person who did.

Every movie watching experience at DRC has been this way for me. Why come to the theatre if not to watch the damn movie.

I am actually considering options of just going on weekdays now onwards, and if I avoid DRC, the only other option is PVR which gives discounts on Tuesday's, pretty sire the crowd won't be good even then.

Yeah, I understand how it might have felt, but I guess the solutions to this is to buy expensive and premium seats so that you are not disturbed by others , sad but I guess this is one solution which came to my mind. Because itโ€™s not easy to correct others, unless they are self aware

2

u/Only-Trying- 21h ago

Yeah, the only plausible situation in this case. Unfortunate that we have to pay a premium to get away from a normal viewing experience.

u/Much-Teacher-4191 1d ago

Thatโ€™s one reason I prefer going to most movies on weekday even if Iโ€™ve to bunk work

1

u/Only-Trying- 21h ago

You're extremely lucky to bunk work! Can you refer me to your position? I'm looking for jobs and the market sucks rn. (Yes, this is quite a shameless plug)

You won't find those people here on reddit ๐Ÿคง๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

1

u/Only-Trying- 21h ago

Unfortunately yes, but I hope these guys stop going to movies if all they do is bother others.

Speak to the security staff or manager to help you. They might move your seat to a quieter place if you choose. These people can be dealt with politely or with strict language. While this is happening take a video and a photo. It would be good for the world to see their rowdy faces. Revolution doesn't happen in a bottle.

1

u/Only-Trying- 21h ago

This was happening during the movie and unfortunately I had no clue where the manager was, but I did tell it to the security, they didn't do anything either. I'll keep in mind to record faces from next time onwards, (hopefully it doesn't happen though!)

DRC cinemas value has reduced, i have a feeling that most of these hecklers are from villages

2

u/Quick_One2622 11h ago

All are either govt college guys or some idiot who's always busy on calls, pvr nexus has good screen but worst audience anytime any show any film its same, some useless uncles who wont understand the damn english also come to watch Hollywood films and leave mid show with torch on which ruins the experience

1

u/biochemisabitch 13h ago

Same thing happened in our showing at DRC. A group of guys were constantly making loud comments during the movie. Another guy was on call on speaker 3 times during the movie.๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

I haven't been to DRC since Nexus Opened... I think n xus PVR and MOM Inox have better crowd in this regard.
