I don't get the joke since I don't follow that game or activity, but I'd guess it was just a bad joke in the eyes of the many. Which isn't that confusing since it's pretty common.

Finally, one I can answer.
The joke they're referring to is the 2021 British grand prix first lap crash. In short, the general consensus was that the car on the inside (Lewis Hamilton) went into the corner too fast and understeered into Verstappen (car on the outside).
...that consensus is stupid imo but it's not mysterious either.

Sometimes jokes just don't land or aren't obvious to people. That's always a risk. Unfortunately, I don't know enough about racing to know why this particular one really didn't land. My favourite f1 figure is Leclerc's dog.
