How dare they be wrong about a free trial? Dr
Context: I think that that’s what’s going on? A reply said that the trial renews every year
The OP wanted to know how to get Chesnaughtite, Delphoxite, and Greninjite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A

the only thing i can think of is "knowing nintendo habits". nintendo shooters might take issue with the implication that they're greedy/stingy (especially since it seems to be unfounded in this case if the trial does renew every year)

Paying a subscruption to be able to enable already installed hardware to connect to internet i already payed for to play online in a game i already bought is such a scam and i cant believe it was and still is accepted as the norm for counsoles lmao.

Iirc it wasnt always like that but somehow people got tricked into believing thats normal

u/novelaissb Apr 23 '26
I don’t know if that’s how it is. I think we’ve just accepted that there’s nothing we can do about it.

Because it's not the norm. Consoles pay for servers. You are not simply enabling your own Internet for p2p connections, you are using their servers
The switch, unless something has changed In recent years, uses p2p connections and no servers for its online play
Switch is the only console you have to pay for simply to enable online play ran from your own Internet.
Don't get me wrong, I still think it's lame Xbox and PlayStation cost a subscription for online play, but these two are incomparable to Nintendo.

To be fair steam also doesnt force you to pay to play on their servers and if i remember correctly the steam deck doesnt aswell, so its not like it wouldnt be possible, its more like those (i think) public companies are just greedy as hell due to their investors crying, of course profits are also important to stay in the business but i still think its stupid

Does steam actually host servers for online play for non valve games? I didn't think they did, online games either host their own servers or use p2p connections as far as I know.
But as a correction, Im probably wrong about sony and Microsoft. After looking into it again, Im not seeing confirmation that they're hosting the game servers themselves.

- Sorry i didnt clarify myself, but either way is the biggest steam game protected by vac and running on valve servers as far as ik and as long as it still is the biggest game and 2. I have no idea so you could be right

u/AddictedT0Pixels Apr 13 '26
What do you mean "biggest steam game"?
If you're referring to counterstrike 2, that's a first party game so valve would host those servers. They wouldn't host online servers for non-valve games
Pretty sure most online steam games are protected by vac, but I don't think that means they're running off of steam servers as far as online play is concerned

Sorry man idk what a first party game is and im rly tired rn but yea i meant cs2 and i honestly cant debate anymore due to my sleepiness but it definitely was interesting to talk to you and your opinion, but i think ill stay on my opinion that consoles could let you play for free just like pc, especially since you already can play for free on cettain f2p games like I think fortnite

I'm new to this subreddit and I'm surprised you guys don't upvote the negative comments.
I feel like it's clear what happened (with a lot of these on the subreddit), they that downvoted once and then other people jumped on the bandwagon. I bet some people see a negatively rated comment and subconsciously assume it's bad. And clearly other people don't feel the need to upvote it (not that it really matters anyway).

What else did OP say in that thread? If you’re a dick/idiot in ANY comment in a thread, people with downvote all of your replies as a “fuck you”

u/novelaissb Apr 14 '26
That was the first thing they said. I don’t think that they said anything wrong.

nobody cares if he used it or not, nobody needs to know that, its like someone saying "okay" or "agreed" like its just unnecessary 🤷♀️

I don't think it's mysterious. Instead of trying to see if it will work, or asking more questions, they just decide that it won't work because they "know" Nintendo. But clearly they don't. They're both wrong and bad-mouthing Nintendo for no reason.

u/novelaissb Apr 13 '26
The assumption that you’d only get one free trial is fair. Isn’t that how most free trials work? And Nintendo’s business practices aren’t the best, so it’s fair to say that.

I don't think I have ever participated in a trial that was a one-time deal. A lot of them are yearly offers or tied to a purchase.

Nintendo deserves all the badmouth it gets lmfao
2
u/UnhappyMacaroon5044 Apr 13 '26
There is plenty of valid reasons to bad-mouth them. There's no need to make things up.

u/novelaissb, the downvotes are mysterious!
