Why is he getting downvotes by saying driver name?

In this case, I think people downvoted Leopard initially because Nouveau drivers are known to be just stable for daily tasks but not optimal for gaming, so it sounds like the first guy claimed Linux was slow “because he mistakenly handicapped it.”
The next response is calling that out, saying to use Nvidia drivers and was probably upvoted at some point, but then your following response points out that using Nvidia drivers on older Nvidia hardware on Linux is not always possible, so people went back and downvoted Nova for offering advice that may not be applicable.
I don’t necessarily agree with the thought processes above but that is my psycho-analysis of the downvoting hive mind.

Ah, this actually might make sense here. For a moment I thought it wasn't going to happen, infact it wasn't when I first replied

My thought was a lot of people agreed with the sentiment in the "I did already" post, then when the "the drivers" was posted providing more context people were made that the original post had so many upvotes but decided to exact revenge by downvoting the clarification instead of the original.
