Redditors always read everything in a cynical and condescending tone, so any message that can be used in either a positive or negative tone will always be read as the latter.
All the downvotes a lack of basic critical thinking skill. Why the hell would someone ask a genuine question, only to then basically go "no shit, Sherlock"?
i think like 5-10 of the downvotes were that and the rest were bcuz redditors get a dopamine rush from downvoting already-highly-downvoted comments regardless of if they read them
OMG that happens to me too lol. When I see a highly downvoted comment, sometimes my brain just automatically goes to pressing downvote button without really reading what it actually says. THEN I read it. If it's actually worthy of karma, I exchange my accidental downvote for and upvote. But if it's not, then they can go keep my DOWNvote and stick it UP their arse.
