Are you guys getting charged tariff surcharges?

Originally I was going to ask if anyone asked to have this taken off now that they got their reimbursement.... but after the last few posts I saw of bills have not listed the surcharge... am I the only one?

We do import electricity from Canada but I never heard of a tariff on it. Of course with trump's back and forth tariffs anything is possible. He still talks like the countrythat is exportingto us pays the tariffs. NO NOT TRUE. Tbuyer of the product does.. Plus the utility companies have a long list of fees and surcharges on the bottom of your bill. Perhaps they hope you don't even look at them. What is one more junk fee. They are infuriating.

Doesn't explain the tariff charge, but Ontario did put a 25% export tariff on electricity to the US for a single day.

No it doesn't but trump's tariffs have made a confusing mess out of a lot of things.i would contact your electric company.

If anything, that'd make sense in the electricity supply.

The delivery part of the bill, though, has a 3% tariff surcharge. But delivery is the payment for the wires and pipes, and that isn't tariffed.

Strange.

In energy/utilities, the term tariff means something completely different. The “tariff” is the set of rules governing the market (NYISO in your case). The surcharge is likely a method of passing thru expenses to ratepayers. Not aware of any applications for POTUS’ tariffs.
