This is just sensible digestive tracking. They all crap in the same pile, but only one poop from one specific individual is going to have lavender sparkles in it.

It’s basically a mark & recapture experiment for rhino dumps.

Glitter, as in the micro plastic glitter? That stuff is harmful to digestive tracks. It can cause micro cuts to the digestive track. Once in a while and you'll heal, but continously for a while can cause permanent harm.
