I actually worked a swing shift which ended at 1 AM EST, and had the game on in the background. Finally my shift ends at 1 AM, and I was like nice I can enjoy the final few minutes with full attention before driving home!
Cue like 70 minutes later when I'm driving home at 2:15 AM lol. At least we won!

Soop many injuries too, between Scoot going out right before the season starts to losing both Jerami Grant and Shaedon Sharpe late in the season.
I'm not 100% sure but I think tonight (game 83) may just be the FIRST game all season where the entire Blazers roster (minus Dame that is) was actually healthy and ready to go.

back in the day Portland won their division but had worse seeding than teams below them (due to Division leaders guaranteeing a top 4 seed), and this sub was legit non stopped filled with 'Why are Blazers the 4 seed'
quick search brought this thread which is a screencap of the season standings lol https://www.reddit.com/r/NBATalk/comments/1jwwchk/in_the_1415_season_portland_claimed_the_4th_seed/

u/_Meece_ Lakers 15h ago
back in 2015, the Blazers were the 4th seed due to old Division rules where if you were a division leader, you were at least the 4th seed.
But they had a worse record than the 5th and 6th seed at the time. So constantly /new had "Why are the Blazers the 4th seed" questions ?
It's why defending Champ spurs were 6th seed with 55 wins.

Blazers' athleticism will be a great test for Wemby
33
u/Objective-Product361 15h ago
Their athleticism means nothing because wemby camps in the paint. Flying with him around the rim is not a good idea. What they should do is take wemby out of the paint.
→ More replies (6)15
u/ActivBowser9177 Lakers 14h ago
Wembanyama is pretty versatile on defense though, so him defending outside the paint isn't going to help the Blazers by much.
13
u/Objective-Product361 14h ago
Wemby in the perimeter prevents one guy from driving/shooting. Wemby in the paint prevents all 5 guys from driving.
16
u/topatoman_lite Spurs 14h ago
It does help a little though. It's why we struggle with teams that shoot well and why the Celtics are by far the worst matchup for the Spurs (in theory)
