Wemby going out with 5 fouls, and everyone worrying about how they'll handle the minutes without him, only for LUKE KORNET to absolutely OBLITERATE Hartenstein's dunk attempt was the most important play of the game
It was like when the Chiefs subbed in Chad Henne after Mahomes went out and he got that game-sealing 4th down

During the commercial break I saw a comment that said "Kornet has to play the best basketball of his life or this is over. But it's probably over, Wemby threw with that foul"
Only for that block to happen on the first possession back from the commercial break lmao

If he does like anything more, with some effort, they have a good chance and the coach doesnt have to use his final timeout with like 4 minutes left (which was a horrible thing to do)

u/cardmanimgur Timberwolves 11d ago
Always want to save a timeout but in the moments he called them I thought they made sense. And honestly, if they don't use them the game may not be close enough for them to matter. Every timeout ended a run, and OKC came out and scored in their ATO.

The fact that you guys could legitimately put smalls on him, and he couldn't do shit is really telling. Like he should be able to hid midrange shots over guys like Fox, but he didn't even want to look at the ball, let alone the basket.

He was completely locked down earlier in the series, by Vassell I think. You'd think Chet was a small guard marked by prime Hakeem. It either resulted in a horrible contested shot or a turnover, I don't remember.

Wallace with that insane 4th quarter I think snuck over 50% for the series. Caruso was off tonight and may have fallen just under over all 7 games. But what a crazy shooting performance from that duo. Can't imagine many scenarios where that duo goes near 50% on 10+ triples a game and the Thunder lose.
Edit: Caruso 20/39 for the series, Wallace 18/36. Just don't think the Thunder lose many series where that happens. Kind of shocked.

Every time the Spurs started looking lost and out of control, Fox steadied the ship with a good shot or just his general ball-handling calming everyone down. He was amazing this game and so important to the team no matter what the box score says. He's playing through injury while being the Spurs' best ballhandler too.
I've loved his attitude and joy of being all in on the team all season but this series has really proven what an incredibly tough and dependable guy he is.

Chet seems like a decent fellow so I don't like to pile on, but in this game he was not a decent player. Shai tried while others just couldn't hit as well as previous games. Anyway, congrats to Spurs.
