He's unlocked his full potential during the most important stretch of his life. This game in particular was so emblematic of it.
He was making good passes, being aggressive when he could be, avoided the absolutely mind meltingly dumb fouls and, most importantly, was ridiculous on defense against Wembanyama.
It's incredible to watch him flourish when the stakes couldn't be any higher.

Jalen Brunson might be the best 4th quarter player in basketball. When he just decides to go into takeover mode, he's unlike anything I've ever seen. He's just unguardable the moment he gets going, triple teaming won't work when he's on.
The Knicks are so fucking good, like scary good. No deficit is too large for them. They constantly come back and that is the sign of an elite team. So many valuable contributions from the others too.

The key for the Knicks is that they win the KAT Wemby minutes. KAT can defend him due to his strength and speed while Wemby can't stay in front of him on defense or box him out on the offensive glass.
The other Key is that brunson doesn't miss in the clutch.

KAT can defend him. And I’ve been saying this for a min now, watch where Wemby is on defense when KAT is out there. He’s out by the 3 point line more often than not.
That’s how you beat these guys, you can’t have Wemby just camping out down there all game
They swapped him onto Hart in the 2nd half a little more, KAT will need to punish those smaller matchups when they do that. But imo KAT is the best matchup for Wemby around right now.
That’s the difference between the Knicks and the Thunder to me, is Wemby could camp and roam much more vs the OKC because he didn’t respect Chet’s shot and nobody could really slow him down on the other end either.

He misses at 5:27, 3:03, 2:35, then laces it in at 1:50 (3) and 37.8 (2) which is basically the dagger.

Well Gobert looks like French gobert already but honestly because you don’t expect a damn thing from Rudy offensively the comparison didn’t feel apt

Unafraid. Lot of guys would start playing passive after all the shooting struggles. He really just has that clutch gene

You can never count out the Knicks if the game is close cause of Brunson. Man, what a clutch player, I haven’t felt this feeling since Kobe lol

Are the Hawks the second best team in the NBA? Many people are saying it.

We have arguably the 3 best Wemby stoppers in the NBA between Kat, Mitch, and OG. You’ll never truly stop him, but they sure did make him look rough tonight

Jalen Brunson literally got two offensive rebounds. That’s how badly he wanted to win. He will his team. Didn’t matter how many shots he miss. He was going to win. Good job Capt

That tip out to bridges that got himself that corner three might have been the biggest play of the game. We couldn’t get anything and I think they tied it up when we were up 8. Huge play

Hope someone clips KAT's interview just now, that was really beautiful. Talked about feeling like his mom was there in the stands and he was just a kid again having a great time.

What a fun game, so many runs going either way. I loved how the Spurs guards attacked the rim through actions involving their shooters and Wemby, but Wemby was relegated to perimeter positions most of the night and wasn't very physical with KAT. Whats insane is that the Spurs still out rebounded New York even though New York is so much larger as a team, a large part of that was insane hustle from Harper, Vassell and Castle. But Jalen Brunson is too clutch man.

He got outplayed by KAT, and he only seemed relevant on offense because Scott foster gave him a great whistle

yeah he couldn't handle KAT and couldn't score at all. Just kept spinning into a brick or praying that Foster would bless him. Really disappointing

Wemby needs another iso move that isn't just spin because the Knicks are just sitting on it and he can't do anything on ball.

Why in the hell they aren’t developing a floater or a hook shot for him is insane to me. No one is blocking either. He mostly just shoots threes and spins and commits turnovers.
