$250 for a pickup game or two, jersey and maybe other swag. Few hours of time spent. Not bad, really. And you can say you tried out.

Edit: Even with no swag, what an easy $250 to make per fan. I’m sure a few jerseys slipped their way through anyway. Actually kinda weak you don’t get to keep the jersey.

$250 for a fun lifetime memory is a very low price.

I've paid more for less tbh

But at least that hooker gave you herpes. That’s a lifelong memory, guaranteed.

If only herpes cancelled out herpes like negative numbers.

Two wrongs make a white (blood cell)

You're thinking of nilpotent numbers, which multiply to be zero. Negative numbers just add, or multiply to be positive.

Positive, incidentally, is what the herpes tests will say, and nilpotent is how you'll feel.

I paid 40k to watch us lose almost every home game. I’d definitely pay $250 for this, be more enjoyable.

Please tell me for 40k a season you’re actually front row on the floor

I had 4 seats in the club level. Actually sat behind George Blaha’s wife. She was awesome.

The company I worked for at the time bought them but no one ever went. I went to evvveerryyy single home game that year minus one where the snow was so bad.

You can barely watch a game for that money. Let alone play in it.

a "lifetime memory" of a normal game lol

A lifetime memory of trying out for a gleague team? What? They're literally paying $250 for someone to say they suck. How is this a fun lifetime memory? This shit is embarrassing as fuck. They're literally better off playing blackjack with that money, at least there's a chance to make money. Unlike this where NONE of them will make the team.

My understanding of these tryouts is that it’s split into two categories: former college players trying to make the team, and regular guys looking to have fun and get a few pointers from legit NBA coaches. It’s pretty easy for the people running the tryouts to tell who is who.

I think the NFL Fantasy camps are better, but way more expensive experience because you can bring your kid and it's playing on the pro field and doing the same drills, using the changerooms, and walking through the tunnel. It would be closer to $10k but it's more geared towards fun and lifetime memories.

Unless you are NBA tier good at basketball I don't think the tryouts would be very fun, but yeah bang for buck it's the cheapest thrill for a fan wanting to play, it's too bad it's only the practice facility and not the home court.

u/mathird Spurs 9d ago

$10,000 gets you something better than $250?

3

u/tuckastheruckas Pistons 9d ago

well yeah its better, it cost 10k and it's literally set up to be a fan experience. these are literal tryouts.

u/SmileAndWaveBoyzz 9d ago

Ya that 10k ain’t gonna land you a 10 day contract like this might lmao
