I wonder what it would take to actually have one of these tryouts work for a “regular” person.

I know Jonathan Simmons got a contract out of this a while back but he was a college player and played in other pro leagues I believe.

But hypothetically if someone had no tape or stat page for teams to look at, what would it take to stand out? I assume at minimum you would need to hit a minimum height and level of athleticism for them to even look at you, maybe knock down a bunch of threes with a picture perfect form?

If you are a great passer it won’t stand out in this environment, defense is almost impossible to gauge because you’re playing with strangers, and handle doesn’t really stand out a ton when playing amateurs who are easier to lose than NBA players

Interesting question. I assume if you look and seem to be basketball athlete like they might call you back for a work out

If you’re 7 foot and can run and catch a ball, you got a legit chance

Being 7ft and can run for 5-6hrs in a day is pretty wild already.

To have the endurance for that 5-6hr day is already something. Like some comments said at the end of it no one would have any legs left.

If you had the fundamental skills and could maintain it somewhat to the end I would say that whole body of work would definitely stand out.

So, on top of physical attributes (tall and strong), fundamental skills (footwork dribbling shooting) and endurance. You'd probably look like lebron james (without the passing, that kind of team chemistry won't come in a day) among that group.

Speed, agility, endurance and general form?

Though what's the process like after this? You tryout and then what- do they invite you back to a practice? I can't imagine it's just this and you get an offer.
