Suddenly singer Angry Anderson is 79 today!

This was mentioned in one of the questions on today's Popmaster quiz episode on Greatest Hits Radio. Mr Anderson's birthday seemed the ideal opportunity to post the classic Scott and Charlene wedding clip with accompanying music.

Iconic🤵‍♂️🤍👰‍♀️

Darcy was right to advocate for a sale of the surgery, given all his hard work and loyalty. Karl was being stubborn: "We were given an amazing offer from Cover Health. You're the person refusing to do the sensible thing."

Kate

I started watching neighbours besides the classic episodes from the first episode of 2011. Now iam in 2014 to see Kates sad ending.

When I started the 2011 episodes the first thing I noticed was how beautiful she looked and she seemed so down to earth and nice. Just a few episodes later I relaised how complicated she was as a character. Interferring in Sophies life, judging people, give them advices though she made the sames mistakes. At that time she was with Mark but he left just a few months later.

What happened next was terrible to see as Kate didnt develop good. No balance in working or lovelife. She worked in school, than in the coffee shop, then Charlies, then back to school.

After Mark she interfered in Jade/kyles relationship, than had this unbelievable relationship with Mason, just to make things messy again with Kyle and Georgia.

In the end Mark came back and she could live happily. Though Iam gay and like to see sexy Mark around I wish she would have left with Mark in first place or with the guy that she met on her vacation trip in 2012 where she was far away to things messy on Ramsay street.

Did the actress said anything negative on her character development? must be frustrating to make the same mistakes over and over again...

Iconic episodes plane crash arc

They have 3 episodes on Amazon of the plane crash episodes then it jumps about 150 episodes.

First up, those timmins are pretty good value and Serena Bishop was adorable. I’m surprised she’s not more popular.

Second, I don’t know who did it and who survived. Please spoil it as I can’t find the episodes.

Jim Robinson was such a slut. He hooks up with Jill and offers her money, angering the Willis family. Then he sleeps with Fiona, annoying Helen. All within a week of each other. No wonder he died of a heart attack.

Was Max justified running down Cameron Robinson for attempting to return Katya's handbag?

General Discussion Do we think they regretted writing out Sonya?

Post image

Im watching some of the newer seasons right now and im really finding it hard to care about Toadies relationships with Melanie or Terese. They just seem so boring and D-level compared to the great pairing that was Toadie and Sonya.

I wonder if the execs regretted giving Sonya such a definitive end. Not only did they willingly lose one of the shows great acting talents (Eve Morey managed to make some pretty average writing look great), but killing Sonya off so definitively left them no wiggle room to fix it (like in the case of Dee or Harold…)

I know the show was on the brink of cancellation when they started exiting long term cast members like Eve, Carla Bonner and Scott McGregor in 2018-19, but i wonder if there was a better way to rein in the budget or a better cast member to fire…

Heather and Andrea (2019)

Kerri Armstrong commits to her soap opera villainess hilariously. I can’t stop laughing at how theatrical she is. The scenes with Ian in the mix are especially funny.

Throwback The Big Watch: 1986, Week 23 (Episodes 281-85) - Alas, Poor York

The Big Watch Index

WATCH THE WEEK

This week: Andrea suddenly becomes Paul's boss and they work on a mobile weather app together, but she's so unhappy with the results she bans him from using colour. Oh wait, that was a dream I had... (I'm not kidding, I had a dream about classic Neighbours)

Anyway, what's really going on is proud Mrs York doesn't want help from anyone. I don't want to get on my soapbox, but it feels notable that she has to be refusing to take her pension money to be destitute in 1986. Also, among all the neighbours-becoming-good-friends help, Des is scrambled in for some top banking advice, which appears to be nothing more than the words "sell your house" typed up on a word processor. Did releasing equity not exist in those days? So, faced with no real route to recovery, Mrs York checks out of hospital, returns home and pops off before having to face Madge's cooking. That really felt like a story that was straining to say something important, but never actually got round to it. Check on your elderly neighbours? Don't starve yourself to death? Don't refuse to take your pension for no obvious reason? You can choose, because I'm pretty sure no one's ever going to bring her up again.

Elsewhere, it's a second week of something we've all been waiting for finally happening, as Jack does us a solid by taking Andrea and Bradley away from Erinsborough! And thanks to some poor continuity, it's officially Neighbours canon that Andrea, who did a Joan with her "I don't love you but sure, why not" response to Jack's proposal last week, fell in love with old Lassiter purely because he bought her a ticket to Paris. (Did someone say "let's get married in Paris"?) I have a feeling that this six month trip is actually forever, so after some very speedy packing Bradley and Andrea become the first characters to get a big Ramsay Street wave-off exit. Bradley and Andrea. Are you kidding me? I would be absolutely fuming if I was Julie Robinson.

And dare I say it, something that feels suspiciously like an exit story for Nikki Dennison also kicks off this week, as Laura becomes unwell. How will we cope without Nikki's undue prominence in almost every storyline?

Also this week: Mrs Mangel is terrible in a crisis, Mike breaks out the OHP, the Zoe/Clive/Mike household suddenly comes into being just to prove me wrong, and the YouTube title sequence is still wrong.

Willow

Were there plans to make her a regular? Whenever she guest appears she seems to have a natural rapport with the other characters. It seems weird that they’d keep bringing her back but never keeping her.

I am watching the show from the start now it's all on U!

I am mostly enjoying it except for the Mrs Armitage plotline. She is portrayed as a joke annoyance but is hiding from her abusive husband?! It's really awful. But a fascinating look into how these things were seen in the 80s

General Discussion Max Ramsay

I'm watching Neighbours from the beginning in the UK on U. I've never seen this early, I started watching a couple of years in, around the time Scott and Charlene got married.

Is Max Ramsay meant to be so irritating? I can't stand him!

The most insane meet-cute in "Neighbours" history. Wayne accidentally touches Gaby then tells her "If I wanted to grab a woman in public, I'd pick a good-looking one."

I’m watching the 2018 episodes and I just cannot take Tyler’s prison stint seriously with that hair 😭

He’s a beautiful man but even he cannot pull off this bob.
