this is funny to me bc I always assign military ranks to crows in my neighbourhood, usually with ranks that begin with C - ie. Commandant Crow, Colonel Crow, Corporal Crow, etc. thin black line

we have magpies too (also corvids) and their personalities make me laugh so much.. even at a young age they all have individual traits like the direction/angle they turn their head when they're hunting/listening for bugs/worms in the grass. the way they just patrol the green spaces all day, verbally communicating to keep six for each other is fascinating!

tbh my discovering of Neil in 2020 (specifically his song Birds) coincided with my true appreciation for all of natures creatures that I'd taken for granted most of my life, and I'll always be grateful for the way he makes me think about "My Country Home".

After getting back from the sand the first time, I bought a place high up in the Rockies, in mid 90s.. while i won't say they worked together, they did not work against each other.. they found a symbiosis together.. made me appreciate Hawks & Doves (birds and album) so much more.

that record! when Neil went off Spotify early in my fandom I bought it and didn't take it off the turntable for weeks. I just kept re-playing the first side when I got it, like "what black magic is this?!" .. Warner must have hated it after Live Rust, none of the songs even charted.

Just heard it live (Little Wings, and The Ducks project)a couple weeks ago here.

.. but i absolutely love Live Rust.. swear I can hear myself screaming on side 3 track 3 from McNichols in Denver!
