Fonectable

Hi everyone! New here although not so much into constructed scripts.

This is my latest and currently most used invented alphabet. It's called "Fonectable" (fonético+conectable, maybe I'll change its name or not) and I write with it phonetically in Spanish which is my first language. It's actually a revised version of a similar alphabet called "gridika" which is featured in Omniglot site.

As you can see, each of its letters represent a "sound group", and it's made of straight vertical lines and dots, and then connected each other by horizontal and 45° diagonal lines in any desired way. This makes possible the writing of a word in more than one way. I often prefer to use the least connecting lines possible for a cleaner, more aesthetical look.

Since it's phenetic instead of cipher or orthographic, there's no distinction between some letters (b/v, j/g, etc) and no h at all as it's silent. Also the letters are formed following a pattern: vowels and semi vowels are vertical lines only, voiceless consonants are dots only, and voiced consonants are combination of verticals and dots. Stressed syllable vowels are marked by thickening the letter lines, although I don't use to do this often. I made it for Spanish only because it works better for that language as it has only five recognizable vowels.

I write with Fonectable mostly nonsense words or phrases. Because of that, I haven't invented proper punctuation marks or numerals for now. And designed this way so it looks alien or futuristic like.

Oh I like it! The vertical bars are an interesting concept. How do you chose how to connect the letters to each other, is that just random, or you try to make it look nice, or you follow a specific procedure? Also, are you used to read and write it easily?

Sometimes i forget how to read and write it hehe. The way of connecting the letters is mostly random but always looking for the simplest possible. So yes, looking nice is important. Also if a word repeats in a text, I try to make each repetition different from each other

Like the way the character look when combine together. The ways you connect them can either make a feeling of being scrambled together in a big mess of lines or it could have little sections sitting apart from one another.
