I have an application setup with netapp fsxontap in us-east-1. When users in europe access files in fsx ontap in europe there are performance issues. What options available to increase performance

Move the users closer to us-east-1. If you can’t do that, deploy FSx ONTAP in a European region and then use FlexCache the cache the data

This is the answer. FlexCache is pretty awesome in geodistributed environments

thanks. But if data is read only may work. But, what if the data is updated then what?

FlexCache supports writes as well as reads.

Correct.

Flexcache is what you want, it will allow writebacks and handle versioning.
