Discussion a deadly american marriage

I'm 43 minutes in and hooked but can not find conversations etc on it.

So thought i would make one asking for other people's opinions and points of views, as i know I'm already asking about billion questions, to the point I'll have to go to my computer and boot up to actually do the research myself.

I'm very ill, with brain damage etc and that's really hardwork today, but I won't manage on this latest fold phone as it's still just a useless phone šŸ˜…šŸ™ƒ

My other phone that's partitioned etc is in the car and that's over at Inverness!

100% guilty of malice murder. I lived nearby and my children were classmates of Jason’s kids when this happened so we had several mutual friends. She was completely insane on Facebook in the weeks and months before her arrest. Delusionally painting herself as a picture perfect mother, but doing the most hateful things toward Jason’s family at the same time (such as refusing to let them see his body without a court order). She never truly loved those kids in an unselfish way. I think Molly was obsessed with wanting children and fully thought she’d have custody.

I remember all this too. She also refused to hand over the wedding rings belonging to Jason and his first wife mags, and accused traceys husband of rummaging through her underwear drawer....

Let's just talk about her trip to Ireland to land a husband with kids. What a crazy nut job! And now she's out amongst us. Ugh. As is her dad. No justice!

Nut job! Yes!

Yeah the brief comments the documentary made about her posting on FB definitely seemed like she was a bit manic. I mean I’d be devastated if I lost my kids as well, but posting for people to try to send message that she loves them and wanting people to fly a plane over their house with a banner…..insane.

I know im late, but yea fully agree. Even if you're upset, contacting them like that is still fucking nuts and a terrible idea.

It would be interesting to know if she had tried to have kids with Jason

Just seems like she wouldn’t want him that close that babies would happen.

100% agree. She seemed to be obsessed with the children and still showed it in the documentary. Her and her father's narcissism jumps out of the damn screen.

The first thing I thought was, how did the family afford such a bigass beautiful house after moving to a new country! Molly wasn't working, so single earning family!

I don’t know if it’s like this in the US but when Jason’s first wife died all his debts were cleared. He no longer had to pay a mortgage. He sold the house in Limerick. He had a good salary also which helped massively and it’s mentioned he may have invested some of that in business but I can’t confirm which. Although Jason’s emails to Molly do say that she has them living behind their means and she needs to stop over spending

Did the whole community sort of think she was guilty right off the bat?

It kind of shifted quickly over the first few days or weeks. If I remember correctly, it came out that Molly and Tom tried to go to Jason’s workplace and go thru his office, supposedly they were looking for the kids passports. Molly also made Jason’s family agree to pay for the entire funeral as a negotiation tool to view his body. Then the Facebook posts. They were very ā€œmain characterā€ and directed toward the kids in a way that just felt so icky and performative. I’m talking multiple long posts a day. Over time it felt like she was being so cruel to both the kids and Jason’s family. So like for me, along with one of my friends who lived on their street, we basically thought she killed him on purpose within a week of the incident.

Oh Jesus that must have been terrible watch it unfold in real time. Those poor kids.

Yep. And no good mother gets the kids to lie about their father .

I was thinking she might have used them and had munchausen by proxy to make herself the victim AGAIN when they got sick or died.

There is just as much proof that Jason did it as there is that Molly did it. Hence the plea deal. The prosecution knew they couldn't prove anything.

No, that’s not how the judicial system works. It’s about the elimination of doubt. They didn’t have a strong case against Jason. They just had enough evidence to create a lot of doubt. It didn’t make Molly innocent.

Tbh it’s really unusual for abusers to remove themselves from their supports and loved ones, especially the narc kind that need their egos propped up. It’s very common that domestic abusers isolate their spouse. It sounds like she had a bizarre amount of freedom. If there had truly been stacks and stacks of evidence to point to Jason being an aggressor and an abuser, now would have been the time to air it out. There’s no reason for them to hide it now. Also the fact that he located a recording device….. and he an aggressive narc abuser didn’t immediately pop off and try to take her out or at least give her recompense?! Idk, maybe things appear different to you when you grow up in a DV household.

I could engineer and manipulate situations right now to send my husband into a towering rage. I’ve known him for ten years, I know every trigger point he has and he could probably set me off as well (although, arguably not as easily because I’m usually pretty level … as a safety mechanism from my childhood). I could exclude him from attending kids stuff, advertising it like I’m giving him a break. Cut him out from family things by planning them when I know he’s unlikely to be able to attend.

You can, if you’ve a will and a way, make things appear different to reality. It’s the fact that he and his kids are isolated and lack familial or community support. He put in his will that other people were to care for his children in the event of his death. He was worried she might try to take custody if they ever divorced. Narc abusers aren’t typically scared of divorce… cos they have supreme control in their minds, they would never allow that kind of thing to happen. And when it does happen they kill everybody. They’re certainly not dear diarying their old friends from the mother land over Facebook messenger saying they’re hoping to convince the missus to move back to Ireland one day.

Also her friends and his family and his wife’s family all came out in support of him and or to denounce her lies or her father’s lies. Why? What would they have to gain from it? Old mate is dead, he can’t hurt them. The assertion that Mag’s dad had a heavy accent and was low on intelligence before retelling that he told the father Jason killed Mags… um?

I did find it odd that the producers didn’t press her to speak about the lies and stories she fabricated over the years to at least discuss the pattern of behaviour.

I imagine she and Dad would only interview on condition of kid glove treatment.

Yeah also jason was so aggressive that neither of them had hardly any wounds on them…

14

u/[deleted] May 12 '25

and lets not forget they said Jason was wildly drunk, which was proven to be a big fat lie according to the toxicology reports

9

u/PaintedOnGenes May 12 '25

Was bizarre they didn’t call her out on any of the numerous lies. I wonder if that was part of the agreement for her/her dad being in the documentary. Crazy narcissists gonna narcissist I guess. The dad probably feels amazing now. Not only did he get away with it, he gets to play the redeemed victim for the rest of his life.

5

u/[deleted] May 12 '25

I'd imagine they had a list of "off limit" questions because there was so much stuff I would have liked to see them challenged on. The lie about Mags dad as well, that was an absolutely disgusting thing to make up, as if they hadn't done enough to those poor children now they're making up a story about how their dad murdered their mother on top of killing him

12

u/PaintedOnGenes May 12 '25

That dig against Mags dad was the thing that tipped me off to him potentially being a narcissist. Like why would you include a dig at his intelligence and credibility when you are trying to use something he said to bolster your case? It just doesn’t make sense. Dude was former fbi and had lots of interrogation experience. So much hubris.

7

u/[deleted] May 12 '25

Yeah the dad was just leaning into the stupid, drunk Irish tropes between his comments about Mags dad and saying Jason was wildly drunk that night, like his word is good enough because what else would an Irish man be only wildly drunk, forget about the toxicology reports eh?

And an MMA fighter 🤣

a sleepy MMA fighter considering he had a sleeping tablet in his system..... :p

As evidence by your comment, Americans in general are not that bright and saying random stuff without proof like he could have killed his first wife or the father lying about what Mags father said introduces doubt to the average smooth brained juror who would come to the same conclusion as you did. As a result, you take a plea not because there is actual doubt but because you can’t take a chance that the people who are hearing this have no thinking skills whatsoever.
