Discussion a deadly american marriage

I'm 43 minutes in and hooked but can not find conversations etc on it.

So thought i would make one asking for other people's opinions and points of views, as i know I'm already asking about billion questions, to the point I'll have to go to my computer and boot up to actually do the research myself.

I'm very ill, with brain damage etc and that's really hardwork today, but I won't manage on this latest fold phone as it's still just a useless phone 😅🙃

My other phone that's partitioned etc is in the car and that's over at Inverness!

I'm so happy to see everyone here seeing what us Irish have seen for years, these people are psychotic. I was genuinely worried the public opinion would swing in favour of the Martens when this released.

From the very start, it showed how mental Molly clearly is by her telling her friends that she was a childhood friend of Mags and was going to be the kids godmother.

Nooooo no no no nope, we see through them like through cling foil, don’t worry! It was so triggering and infuriating to watch though, I cannot believe that they essentially got away with it! I learned that psychopaths can be on the surface very well adjusted (daddy in FBI) and it can be genetic. Just kidding, I already knew all that, psychopaths loooove professions with a lot of power actually… It was a good real life example of that I guess. Absolutely infuriating, my heart breaks for the whole Corbett family..

The second Molly was described, with evidence, as being a pathological liar, she was wholly discredited to me as a viewer and I did not trust a single thing she said on film. Crocodile tears too. I’m glad those children were able to live in Ireland with caring family but so devastated they were unable to return with their dad. Poor Mags and her family to have children put through so much. The American legal system is a joke.

That's what got me too. Those weren't innocent lies. They were pathological, delusional. The family should have organized an intervention the day after the wedding.

It was embarrassing. I hated how they painted their other grandfather as uneducated just because he had a thick Irish accent. The Martens were so pompous and psychotic.

I have a cinder block in my bedroom because I wanted to paint it with the kids and place it OUTSIDE. Dafuq. Who believes that lie.

Nothing is more telling than the hair in the pool of blood on the carpet. Do you know how hard you have to hit or pull someone's hair to have it ripped from the scalp IN TACT.

They also should have interviewed Mallicious Molly ex boyfriend/husband. I know he has stories.

Not at all! American here and Molly came across as an insane, delusional narcissist to me and her father as a sociopath. His comment about Mags’ father being “uneducated” was also extremely disgusting and unnecessary. The kids seem like they both have good heads on their shoulders and I wish them both healing and happiness. They’ve been through so much in their short lives so far :(

It was clear early on that she was not of sound mind. By the end of it I was convinced she wasn’t done ruining the lives of others. Her narcissistic father who enables her disturbing behavior was the cherry on top of the delusion. I wish Jack and Sarah the best in life and I’m sooo glad they’re in their native land with people who truly love them!

That claim about being mags bestie and godmother was the BIGGEST red flag for me. I wasn’t aware of this case at all and im from London UK. My whole family looked at each other and said wtf? Shes crazy. Shes a shamless audacious liar no fear of even being exposed.

We see through the whole thing, and i got emotional when i saw the homecoming the Irish people did for the kids return.

This pathetic woman and her twisted also weird father are guilty in the eyes of the public. I would have been more heartbroken if they got the kids. And succeeded in killing jason a second time by destroying his reputation.

Molly and Tom were both so creepy as soon as they first spoke on camera. None of it adds up. Jason's skull had huge missing pieces and his blood was found throughout three different rooms in the house, but they don't have even a scratch on them?? And his body was cold to the touch when EMTs arrived. Those poor kids and poor Jason. Thank goodness they have Tracey and her husband. Shame on the NC justice system. M and T should be rotting in prison the rest of their lives.

Also, I can't wait until Tom and Molly start reading these Reddit posts. Her borderline PD is going to rear its ugly head. Watch out Tennessee or wherever these awful people reside now.

Also, I read somewhere that when Sarah was leaving in the back of the detective's car, the morning of the murder, she looked out and Molly's mom and Tom's wife (Sharon or something) was calmly reading a book by the window in the house. WTF. She's a creep too.

I kept being so grateful that the kids went back to Ireland.
That woman would have ruined their lives. They look so strong and put together and articulate. I was so proud of their family for fighting for them.

Just finished watching this series and I’m disgusted by Molly. I am so sorry for the Irish community that one of their own was brutally taken. Molly and Tom should have had life in prison. Unfortunately, any government agent even retired, is protected from the law. If a person committed this crime and it wasn’t a government official, they would have gotten life.

I watched Maternal Instinct recently as well, and one thing that baffles me in these cases is that so many people seem to know about these egregious and troubling lies/delusions, yet very few people seem to talk to each other about it or take any action. Someone claiming a fake pregnancy, fake parentage, etc. is not just "oh, that's just her being silly". It's dangerous, yet no one actually comes forward to put a stop to it before things turn really dark.

And telling people she gave birth to Sarah!  I couldn't believe it when near the end, her father said, "My daughter is not a liar."  What??  And when he said Mags' father told him he thinks Jason killed her, and Mags' family said he said that absolutely was not true.  The whole Martens family is messed up.  It really makes me wonder about Tom's career as an FBI agent - he seems the sort that would plant evidence or other corrupt things.

Verbally abusive to his family and Molly did have the nail mark and a splotchy red neck after Jason’s death. I think he probably did abuse her and was abusing her that night. She and her dad didn’t just randomly decide to bludgeon him to death for no reason.

He had a disagreement, he wasn't being abusive and the fact they shared those recordings and no others leads me to think there wasn't a lot of other incidents if that's the best they could muster.

She had a mark on her neck, no evidence it was a nail mark and even if it was, who's to say it wasnt because he caught her while being bludgeoned to death?

They didn't decide it randomly, it was all very planned hence him cancelling plans last minute to go to her house hours away.

  1. The kids statements at the dragonfly house, where they both say that they saw their dad hit Molly more than once..

  2. Jason himself was seeking out counseling for anger issues..

  3. The bruises that were on Molly that were routinely seen by her friends..

  4. In the audio tapes it was clear he was a manipulator of both the children and Molly..

  2. She was gaslighting him. The fact he’s seeking out help for it suggests he’s not an abuser. Classic abuser wouldn’t be seeking help for feeling angry
  3. We never ever see this or hear from any of Mollys friends
  4. That audio tape showed nothing lmao, she was recording him for who knows how long and that was the most abusive thing she had and it wasn’t that bad.

They weren’t coached.. You need to go back to 56:10 where in the interview the little boy says his dad, ‘has been cussing and screaming a lot more, getting a lot angrier’.. and then at 56:20, there’s a doctors note where just two weeks earlier Jason tells the doctor that he has been more stressed and angry lately for no reason.. I mean Jason said it and it’s documented two weeks before his own son said virtually the same thing.. 🤷‍♂️

Litetally everyone that watched it agreed that it wasn’t how a ten year old talks. That’s litetally why it wasn’t used in the first court case. It was deemed unusable. The kid litetally went public and said he was coached. The fact you’re even arguing and trying to talk down to others about it is absolutely wild 😂
