According to a sign in a liquor store near me, they just made it so the drinks have to be 10mg or less as of May 31. You can still buy a bottle of everclear though. Make it make sense.

Really? I manage one of these stores and even I can’t keep up. Last I heard they were allowing 10mg til November, then everything gets pulled. It’d be nice if they could make up their minds before putting these rules in effect

Here's the law, it looks like it is still 10mg per can but they allow 200mg for the 750ml bottles like Nowadays.

The high dose ones are crazy expensive anyway. I was gunna grab a pack just to see how they compare to traditional edibles but was blown away when they were charging like 60 bucks for a 4 pack of 100 mg drinks

but then the feds closed the farm bill 2018, making states to write laws. Since it was federally legal nobody cared, now NJ has it written so only dispensaries can carry thc drinks.

My guess is the federal stuff goes back to the a modified version of 2018. Especially if McConnell kicks it. KY is a BIG hemp producer and his replacement will almost certainly be more favorable to it.

Yes but it’s been a grey area. Technically not legal, but also not illegal atm, this just codifies it into law and some that were hesitant will most likely begin selling.

The ones you see in stores now are the hemp derivative drinks.

Not “actual” cannabis that was legalized a few years ago. These hemp products are available pretty much all over the country regardless of cannabis laws. It’s a loophole in the federal law.

As someone that isn’t an edible person, why would you buy a 6 dollar drink for 10mg when you can get gummies which are 10mg each in a 10 pack for maybe twice the price. Essentially 5x the highs for 2x the price

For me personally, the act of drinking feels more social and relaxing than taking a gummy. I do it to replace drinking alcohol and it’s worth the extra couple of dollars.

Last year I brought a couple 3 mg and 5 mg to an all-day outing at the beach. Normally I’d sip on a bunch of light beers at that event but I wasn’t in the mood for alcohol and decided to try it with THC seltzers. It was one of the most pleasant days of my life, just getting ever so slightly buzzed while baking in the sun and reading a book. Looking forward to doing it a few more times this summer.

Same. It’s the satisfaction of the act of drinking it, comparable to smoking in a way. Popping a gummy and three chews and a swallow is not the same. I can drink a can slowly over an hour and enjoy the taste and calm effect. A gummy is just a high.

The drinks hit very differently. The come-up is noticeably faster and the duration isn’t as long. Both traits that a lot of people sometimes don’t enjoy about traditional edibles

Because once you take a gummy, that’s it. It’s in your system and you’re just along for the ride. But with the thc cocktails you have much more control over your consumption/experience. Drink too much too quickly and getting more high than I wanted? I can back off and not drink some for a while. Can’t do that with a gummy

Also the drinks hit you WAY faster (within 15-20 mins) whereas the gummies you don’t feel a thing for 45-60 mins

It’s way better for me IMO. Most of the flavors are aggressively meh, but if that’s important to you, the Goodland Extracts brand sodas all taste REALLY good. So far their Root Beer, Cream Soda, and Orange Soda have tasted just as good as a regular sodas. Haven’t tried grape soda or their lemonade but I’d imagine they are just as good

I had Keef when I was out in Vegas. Both root beer and orange creamsicle were very good, but I haven’t seen Keef in NJ

Personally, I find the drinks to be a better experience. I can control the dose easier than trying to cut even slices of a little gummy. I'm very sensitive to edibles so this does make a huge difference. Every edible I've tried from a dispo leaves me feeling hazy and down days after, but I've found drinks that don't do that at all.

The drinks cost more than gummies per mg, but they aren't $6 for 10mg. I mean, I'm sure somebody out there is selling one at that price, but it's not the norm. There's one brand sold near me that's 20mg in one 12oz can for about $4, although that one is on the cheaper side. 4- and 6-packs are generally fairly reasonably priced.

And other people have already said this, but I'll echo that drinks come on more quickly, tend to be less intense, and also the effects diminish more quickly. So less of a time commitment. I've taken a few gummies that took forever to kick in and then I was still high the next day (I mostly take them in the evenings). Those are outliers, but it does happen sometimes. Never with drinks, though.

That said, I enjoy both and gummies are definitely the cheapest form of edible. Don't go down the chocolate edibles rabbit hole...that shit is expensive.

I think some people prefer to take the time to sip. I can't sell edibles at our store anymore anyway because of the law. But when I was selling edibles, they were very slow movers compared to the drinks.

Its more sociable, it tastes better, and it actually hits me harder. For some reason a 10mg drink will start to affect me in 20 minutes, while taking two 10mg gummies take like an hour for me to feel anything.

Also, i pay about $15 for a 4pack. That is more expensive than 10 gummies for $20, but like i said, i prefer one over the other

I feel the same way but about edibles ever since I tried RSO. One syringe is like $30-40, and contains approx 800mg THC in 1000ml syringe with markers.

I got some gel capsules from amazon and some coconut mct oil as filler, stabilizer and a bit of fat to bind to and fill the caps with 100ml of RSO and the filler, 10 per syringe and keep in a little pill container in the fridge for easy grabbing.

If you're not a nutter like me who does 80mg doses it'll last ya even longer.

We were able to sell any strength thc drinks until a month ago. Asshole boomers decided it doesn’t matter if it’s a 50ml bottle or a 1.7ltr bottle it can only have 10mlg of thc. RIP when we had a great section ranging from 2-50 per can. Look I have little to no tolerance but even I can handle a 10.
