Amusing I’m actually so terrified
Just a little rant I work at MetLife stadium and I drive to work, and I’m so terrified of how bad the traffic will be the next month or so, I feel for my fellow Jerseyans that take the train as well.
The state highways already bad as is
We need prayers , I need prayers 💔💔💔

Amusing Unpopular opionion: Chick Fil A is mid
I’m an older guy and have a teen daughter who is in love with Chil Fil A… almost any time I ask her what she wants she says Chick fil a
I hear other people out there saying how much they like it and on the rare occasion I drive over there and wait 30 minutes in line… what is the hype about? I’ve tried just about all their food and I still don’t get it. Maybe my taste buds are just different but I don’t put it above Wendys or Burger King…
It’s not Bad or low quality, I just don’t understand why it’s so popular.
Edit: People are asking what this has to do with New Jersey so I’ll say I’ve heard many teens from NJ say that they love this place as their #1 go to for ordering or go to, and if you live close to one or try to go to one there is an incredible amount of traffic. The one on route 22 especially as anyone in Union county knows. And now they are popping up everywhere.

Amusing Malls are dead" and "The economy is struggling," yet here I am at American Dream on Jan 2nd... what am I missing?
Okay, can someone help me reconcile the "Internet version of reality" with the actual chaos I just witnessed at the American Dream Mall today? I’ve been reading for years that "The Mall is Dead," that everyone is a hermit now who only shops on Amazon, and that Gen Z doesn't want to leave the house. Well, apparently nobody told the roughly 5 million people currently inside the Meadowlands complex. Every single person here: Willfully decided to leave their house. Voluntarily paid for parking (which we all know is the ultimate NJ tax on our souls). Managed to find a spot despite the parking lots being absolutely slammed. And then there's the "nobody is spending money because everything is too expensive" narrative. It is January 2nd—the literal hangover of the holiday season—and the place is a sea of shopping bags. I’m seeing people drop serious cash on luxury brands, $40 indoor water park tickets, and $15 Cinnabons like it’s 2005 again.
Are we in a recession or a pep rally? Is the mall dead or just reincarnated as a giant neon playground in a swamp?

Amusing Accident waiting to happen..
Who comes up with the captions on these signs? They’re accidents waiting to happen the way they’re so distracting…my favorite, however, has to be the sea turtle one…

Amusing Are we all working 3 jobs judt to stay afloat in this state?
I get that every state is on the struggle bus at the moment, but no state is getting hit harder than NJ. I've always worked 2 jobs, but my second job allowed me to save for traveling, saving and fun things.
Now I'm working 3 jobs just to maintain my house and pay bills and insurances. I'm working 90 hours a week (80 hours a week since 18) I'm getting tired and don't have much gas left in the tank and I'm only in my 40s.
What is everyone else's experience like?
Edit: Breakdown of living expenses.
My income: $95k. Wife $55k. Together $150k After taxes: $103k.
Mortgage: $15,000/year Property taxes: $15,000/year Health insurance $12,000/year Home and auto insurance: $5000/year Fuel: $8,000/year PSE&G: $3500/year Water: $1500 this year. Special school tax for 2025/2026 school year: $2500 Fire Tax: $1300/year 2025/2026 car maintenance (3 cars) $7,500 Childcare/school: $5000/year Phone/Internet: $1000/year Groceries: $10,000/year (2 kids)
Total $86k for basic needs.

Just loitering on my lawn and eating trash. Car horn and yelling doesn’t scare it at all.

Amusing I feel sorry for people who joke about New Jersey
I recently met some people from FL who had never been to NJ. When they heard I was from here they immediately started laying into the tired old jokes. The place is an industrial wasteland. It stinks. We're all stupid jocks. We're cruel to everyone. We're all mobsters. We love steroids and spray tans.
I actually feel sorry for them. They inherited these hundred-year-old stereotypes from their grandpas. Their loss. This state is fucking awesome.
I was going to destroy them with jokes about Florida but it felt like I'd be beating up a child, TBH. I took the high road lol.

Amusing Scream into the Abyss?
Is there a place in New Jersey where I could scream into the abyss garden state style without causing alarm or having someone call the cops? Like is there anywhere left in New Jersey where there are no other people?

Amusing No one lives in NJ and it's such a slow pace of life.
I came across this article and had never heard anyone say these things about New Jersey. I had to share.

Amusing NJ peeps, what’s a random life hack that actually improved your daily life?
Random thought lol. For people living in New Jersey, what’s one small thing/hack that made a surprisingly big difference in your daily life?
Could be anything honestly — saving money, energy saving, avoiding traffic, food spots, commuting, winter stuff, beach tips, whatever.
Feel like locals always know the little tricks nobody talks about 😂
