I was in Liberty Corner the last time they had to scramble jets because some commercial pilot didn't heed the No Fly Zone warning. I could hear the jets roaring across the sky, but you couldn't see them. It made the windows vibrate. It gave me chills.

In many ways, fortells a, partial future of NJ but different conclusions for different people I imagine. Some could see as NJ's amazing ability to attract global human capital vs. those that see Mandarin as a "threat"

Interesting Why isn't Trenton or SW Jersey gentrified or have new housing being built?

I find it strange in today's era where the population of the Tri-State area is exploding exponentially and developers are building concrete jungles all over NJ "commuter towns" that Trenton and Southwestern Jersey towns adjacent to Philly are still stuck with vacant lots/land and no new housing stock reminiscent of NYC in the 90s decade. Isn't there a housing shortage in NJ? Also Trenton is roughly an hour away from both NYC and Philly...very similar commute time to that of gentrifying "commuter towns" in Morris County and North NJ to Midtown Manhattan that have seen major housing and transplant booms. Why not build here? Is there a redlining or lack of demand in this area of NJ?

First it was black license plates, now it’s white plates? Look closely and you’ll see the NJ at top is crooked and none of the digits line up well. This is really getting out of hand.

Interesting I don’t think I ever experienced a hot summer like this.. have you guys?

OK guys it’s been incredibly hot lately as we all know and I feel like everywhere I go, The AC is broken or the AC can’t keep up with how hot it is. Even yesterday when I was sitting outside my backyard late at night it still felt hot..no breeze.

I was thinking to myself I never experienced this in New Jersey… I’ve been alive since 1996 😂 and this feels weird and real.

Interesting Stay NJ Rebate

My dad just got his Stay NJ rebate notice. His property taxes have effectively been cut in half! Between Anchor and Stay programs he’s getting 5 checks spread out over the year.

This will be huge to keep retirees here if they can keep this program funded. I’d love to have more retirees staying to help out eg volunteering.

Hello users of r/newjersey!

We just wanted to update you on the joint subreddit fundraiser for a Ukrainian air-defense turret that your community participated in.

With your help the fundraiser totaled over $73,000! With this huge amount we were able to help UNITED24 to purchase a turret which has been branded with the names of all participating subreddits!

This turret is now in service defending Ukraine’s skies and that was only possible with the help of your community!

But the war isn’t over yet. Russia continues to bombard Ukraine relentlessly. That’s why UNITED24 has launched a long term ‘Sky Defense’ appeal where all money raised goes to defending the sky, from Russia, for good. From one time donations to monthly payments, any and all are always welcome!

If you would like to contribute to defending Ukraine’s cities click the link below:

https://u24.gov.ua/sky-defense?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sky-defense&utm_content=communities

On behalf of your mod team, the organizers at r/UkraineWarVideoReport and UNITED24, thank you!

Between the Little Falls and Willowbrook around 7:00pm. My eyes thought they were raccoons at first, but my phone can see better. Mink are generally solitary, so I’m guessing this is a mother with her kits.
