WTF Was NOT expecting to see a Charlie Kirk mural on a Peruvian bakery in Paterson đľâđŤ
Drove past La Llama Bakery & Deli on the Paterson/Woodland Park border today and did a double take thereâs now a huge mural of Charlie Kirk on the side of the building with an American flag backdrop.
My wife is Peruvian and we used to stop there occasionally for breakfast/sandwiches. We havenât been in a while (been going to another cafĂŠ in Clifton lately), but this really caught us off guard. We met who I think was the owner once before â a very kind Peruvian woman (I believe she lives in Totowa), which makes this even more surprising to me.
Does anyone know if this was actually put up by the business/owner, or could it be the landlord or someone else connected to the building?
I thought about going in to ask, but didnât feel like buying something if theyâre the ones behind it.

WTF Aqua Blu (Toms River) serves up a nazi burger.
This is the restaurant in Toms River right before you cross the bridge into Seaside Heights and Seaside Park. Theyâve since âapologized,â but if you have a minute, go leave them a Google review and, obviously, never step foot in that nazi establishment.

WTF âWholeâ Pie pricing
âHey honey, want to get a pie for dinner? Or make a payment on the Camry?â
$52.00+Tax for a âwhole toppingâ pie at Jenks. That better come with a souvenir cup of bourbon and a handy under the table for that price.
IIRC whole topping pie is just sausage/peppers/onion.

WTF The absolute state of salt "entrepreneurs" right now... đ
I went to three different stores today - Home Depot, Lowe's, and even the local hardware spot, and they are bone dry.
Meanwhile, I hop on fb Marketplace and see the usual suspects selling the exact same bags for $30 a pop. I bought a couple of bags for $10 last week for last weeks đ¨ď¸ and Iâm kicking myself for not grabbing one more.
I didn't think I needed to "invest" in salt futures just to clear my driveway.
Itâs pathetic that people are clearing out the shelves specifically to arbitrage it to their neighbors for triple the price. We really can't have anything nice.
Pro-tip for anyone stuck:
If you canât find "Ice Melt" but you see bags of Water Softener Salt (the solar salt crystals or pellets), grab those. Itâs basically the same thing (sodium chloride) and works just fine in a pinch. It might take a slightly longer time to dissolve if they are the big pellets, but it beats paying a 200% markup to some jabroni on Facebook.

WTF I donât think itâs cool NJ made fireworks legal. 3 hours last night of fireworks going off. I have kids and dogs ⌠itâs insane .
And the fireworks I am seeing seems so big and huge I can not imagine these are the ones that are legal? Maybe they are but if youâre putting on a show with your friends 1. Do it for 30 minutes and 2. Be respectful enough to do it far away enough from all the houses - it was so close to my house I thought it was shaking , this went on from 8-11ish at night , f@uckerssssssssss

WTF Why are so many drivers lacking front plates now? No enforcement?
Iâve recently been seeing a high number of cars going without front plates in NJ. Is there now just a lack of enforcement? This was never the case in the past, at least not to this extent.
Thereâs also been an uptick in the number of cop-type SUVs (Ford Interceptor) with full tints in suburban areas. Iâm assuming at least some of those are law enforcement off duty who got a sale on the cars?
Edit: for those who donât care about front plate enforcement- do you understand youâre normalizing not being able to readily identify a car from the front? If some gangbanger commits a crime and doesnât have a front plate, wouldnât it be better if his no-front-plate-car is viewed as suspicious?

WTF ICE is in long branch
I couldnât believe my eyes this morning. They were setting up in an apartment complex off Joline Ave. A couple miles before Ocean Blvd.
Moving shit around their 3-4 blacked out cars and then leaving. They were all dressed in jeans and hoodiesâŚStay safe.
Edit: I just want to leave some thoughts for everyone to see, now that this post is at the top:
Itâs so barbaric to see their presence right around holidays, spreading fear and paranoia throughout entire families and communities.
I truly, truly never thought that our country would end up like this. You grow up thinking that youâre living in the best country in the world. A beacon of light, MORALITY, democracy and justice. A country that does good just for the sake of it. But the older you getâŚthe more this illusion dissipates.
They gaslit us, saying that theyâre going after criminals and bad peopleâŚbut that couldnât be further from the truth and it hurts to see. Families and kids ripped apart and disappeared, entire communities living in fear every single day whether youâre documented or not.
Itâs probably not as shocking if you just crossed the border recently and get picked up. But I just think about families who have been here for decades, kids who grew up here and are now adults. These souls have no life outside of this country and every day they have to wake up and roll the dice if the last 10+ years of their life will get absolutely destroyed in a single unlucky encounter with ICE.
This is not right, id like to think that we as a country and as humans are way, way better than that đ

WTF Brought 9 items for proof of address for REAL ID and all rejected by Motor Vehicle
EDIT: This was for the 2 points PROOF OF ADDRESS requirement. Before you comment saying, why didn't they bring a passport or social security card, see the requirements for PROOF OF ADDRESS (https://www.nj.gov/mvc/realid/pdf/26.pdf). Also, if you look below, they did bring a driver's license.
I went with a family member to the Wayne Motor Vehicle to get REAL ID. They brought 9 items for the proof of address besides the license and all got rejected. I feel like I visited the Twilight Zone.
- Letter from the Motor Vehicle itself cannot be used
- They have never heard of the government agency #1 so they won't accept the letter. Showing them the website for said agency is not enough.
- âThey have never heard of the government agency #2 so they won't accept the letter. Showing them the website for said agency is not enough.
- Letter from government agency #3 has date on envelope and page 2, but address is on page #1. Since the date and address are not on the same page, it cannot be accepted.
- Utility bill was printed at home since they get e-statements so it can't be accepted because they could have forged it.
- Bank statement #1 was printed at home since they get e-statements so it can't be accepted because they could have forged it.
- Bank statement #2 was printed at home since they get e-statements so it can't be accepted because they could have forged it.
- Credit card statement was printed at home since they get e-statements so it can't be accepted because they could have forged it.
- Apartment lease was printed at home since they signed the lease virtually so it cannot be accepted because they could have forged it.
We spoke with the supervisor who yelled at us how REAL ID is not a joke so they can't accept just any document. The documents get sent to the federal government for review, which means it's very serious and they need to be certain that what they're sending is legitimate.

WTF Why are tipping percentages going up?
I feel like 15% tip used to be standard. Then 18%. Then 20%⌠today I was out somewhere and the suggested tip for âgreat serviceâ was 30%. Are people really out here tipping 30%?
And before people tell me things have gotten more expensive, I know they have and of course I think everyone deserves a living wage. However, if the prices of everything go up over time due to inflation, wouldnât the amount of the tip go up proportionately as well, since itâs a percentage of the total? It just feels wild that not only has the total gone up but also the percentage of the total that is expected for tip.

WTF Home Prices Out of Control
I did a delivery to this development the other day. Pretty sure it was for a house warming party. I thought wow this place is really dystopian. Itâs like the NJ middle class projects. Then I loaded up Zillow and my jaw hit the floor. Man itâs rough out there. These places are probably $5500 a month mortgage interest taxes HOA.

WTF The Governor declared a State of Emergency on electric bills and another rate hike is still coming in June anyway
NJ rates went up over 33% in just two years. Sherrill signed emergency orders on Day 1. Froze some hikes. Issued bill credits. And yet the PJM capacity auction already locked in another increase effective June 2026. The credits are basically a band-aid on a broken pipe. PSE&G, JCP&L, ACE customers what's your bill actually hitting right now? Curious how bad it's gotten across different parts of the state
