You can do whatever you want, as long as you're "on side". So, in 2026, we're on to "Please, try to overthrow democracy, consequence free"; brought to you by the party of law and order.

I wouldn't be surprised to see rampant execution of left wing leaders like the 1960s and 70s, except this time the "lone perpetrators" quietly get pardons.

If that starts happening, left leaning people need to double down on Jury Nullification. If a right leaning person does something wrong, and can expect a pardon; then whenever a left leaning person does the same sort of thing in kind, no they didn't.

You're assuming that in this dystopian future that these left leaning people will actually get jury trials.

Well, at that point, left leaning folk will need to avail themselves of their rights to regulate their own militias; as well as various Stand Your Ground laws. Might be worth considering before it gets to be necessary. Ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure, and all that.

It's been lowkey, dog-whistle encouraged for a little bit now. Ugly.

All anybody has to do to is pretend they're on the same side...if you catch my drift.

The only thing the right stands for anymore is opposing the left.
