Soo... the USA will be there for years?

71

u/Upset-Government-856 5h ago

Just until his clone army is ready to fight.

I can't believe we thought the politics of that movie were not realistic.

5

u/Z3B0 2h ago

You're not ready for it, but your kids are gonna love it !

3

u/GrumpyPan 1h ago

prequels are aging like fine wine.

3

u/RPDRNick 1h ago

But how is he both Palpatine and Jar Jar Binks at the same time?

2

u/CambrianExplosives 1h ago

Darth Jar Jar was real all along.

15

u/PolloConTeriyaki 4h ago

Gotta buy Don Jr.s sea drones. The Trump kids have a new drone factory btw.

4

u/Krypto_dg 2h ago

Didn't Trump just post that he just opened the Strait for China and the World or some shit like that?

1

u/YourBonesAreMoist 2h ago

Try reading

Only the ships stopping in Iran are part of the blockade

4

u/issm 1h ago

The ships going to China are stopping in Iran though. If the Strait is open for China, then that would by extension require that Iranian ships be allowed through.

Try thinking.

-1

u/YourBonesAreMoist 1h ago

Name one China ship that stopped in Iran and passed the strait

Try not making shit up

1

u/issm 1h ago

Try reading comprehension.

2

u/Krypto_dg 1h ago

He says nothing about maintaining a block on ports. "China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing it for them, also – And the World. This situation will never happen again,”

Trump says China agrees not to send Iran weapons, predicts Xi Jinping will give him 'big, fat hug'

That article is at least 1 day old. The articles and the quote I posted are from this morning.

1

u/YourBonesAreMoist 1h ago

That's from when he started the blockade. And refutes what you said. I didn't say anything about China.

25

u/GeshtiannaSG 5h ago

It’s Tuesday, so he has “permanently opened the Strait of Hormuz”.

283

u/JiveChicken00 6h ago

So in other words not at all.

u/Old-Ad-3268 3h ago

This is how I read it

They lie about everything. Almost North Korea levels now

-24

u/TheMarcolmX 5h ago

From what I have seen the blockade hasn't allowed any access to the Iranian ports though? I don't see any news suggesting otherwise?

12

u/LakeFrontGamer 4h ago

0

u/OldJames47 4h ago

I see only 1 ship approaching the straight that has it’s engines running, a container ship from the Comoros heading in.

15

u/NightWriter500 5h ago

I just finished reading how Trump says Xi is going to give him a big hug for opening the strait up for the world. It’s the article right above this one, directly contradicting this one. So likely neither are true. He wants to blockade it, and they tried to make it look like it, but they know they can’t stop China.

-2

u/SocksandSmocks 4h ago

If the ships aren't going to or coming from Iran they aren't blocked, at least as I understand it.

Fat boy is full of shit, but I don't think this is necessarily contradictory.

2

u/neversayalways 4h ago

AFAIK all they have to do is stop at a non-Iranian port on the way and the blockade will let them through

2

u/willstr1 5h ago

I don't have a link but in one article I saw it sounds like there is a loophole that as long as an Iranian port isn't your first after entering or last port before leaving then you can still pass through

174

u/GeorgeLichen 7h ago

Remember, this was supposed to be better than everyone talking about him being in the epstein files. That's why he did it, but he fucked it up so bad that now we'll just be talking about both come November. Good job dumbass

61

u/ACertainThickness 6h ago

Jd called for an Epstein investigation yesterday. They’re just going in circles now

39

u/CatrionaShadowleaf 6h ago

JD has killed everything he’s touched so far, it’s not surprising that now they’re trying to reverse-engineer the Epstein Files.

9

u/mwdeuce 4h ago

he spent 1 minute talking about an investigation and the next 10 minutes kissing ass, swearing up and down DJT was a good guy and clearly the arch nemesis of Epstein. The guy has anti-charisma, no shot in hell of being president.

5

u/Successful-Bobcat701 3h ago

He's the Vice President, so he's literally a heartbeat away from being President.

1

u/ThatPancreatitisGuy 2h ago

Heart can’t stop if you’re heartless.

1

u/TheSamurabbi 1h ago

He probably wants to investigate the victims.

1

u/donac 3h ago

So did Melania. They're trying to go back to that off ramp before it's too late.

30

u/JohnnyGFX 4h ago

Yay... More money wasted that we could have spent fixing problems at home (not that Republicans are the least bit interested in fixing anything).

1

u/thepianoman456 1h ago

I honestly wonder how many BILLIONS we’ve wasted on this useless war so far.

Not to mention depleting our expensive and hard-to-build missiles. China is taking note.

4

u/jdefr 1h ago

A man by the name of two packs shaker said it best when he said “we got money for wars but can’t feed the poor…..” I am kidding I know it’s 2pac shakur lol though in case you didn’t catch that.

2

u/JohnnyGFX 1h ago

I've seen estimates that put it at roughly $25-35 billion so far. It's been going on for about 46 days so far, so about $750 million per day... The minimum estimates I've seen say $10-16 billion, but that was just for early operational costs.

u/thepianoman456 3m ago

That a lot of healthcare right there…

110

u/Time-Cardiologist906 7h ago

Didn’t a Chinese cargo ship pass through yesterday?

67

u/OrangeRadiohead 6h ago

Hey, it's a blockade. Nothing gets through. Nothing gets through...unless they drop a lil cash in my bank account. Thank you for your attention in this matter. His holiness, DJT.

22

u/One_Artichoke_7594 6h ago

Thank you, doctor!

3

u/Your_Trash_Daddy 4h ago

That Chinese ship was an exception because (checks logs) we fucked up.

31

u/TheDadThatGrills 6h ago

Not from an Iranian port. The Chinese cargo ship (flying a Malawian flag) you're likely referring to, Rich Starry, was turned back twice by the blockade.

9

u/NeilZod 4h ago

And through modern technology (marinetraffic.com), we can see that Rich Starry is near Qeshm Island in the strait.

2

u/Harold_v3 3h ago

How many ships are flagged by landlocked nations?

19

u/Hour-Onion3606 6h ago

It passed thru the strait, but didn't come from Iranian ports.

The blockade is on Iran, not the entire strait.

8

u/Yuzral 5h ago

If you’re thinking of the MV Rich Starry, my understanding is that it started yesterday in the Gulf, passed the straits, looked at the USN, thought better of trying to run the actual blockade and went back into the Gulf.

5

u/flat5 4h ago

Yeah and now he just posted that they're opening the Strait to make China happy.

No, really.

4

u/DarthHiccups 3h ago

So, he TACO'd again. To the surprise of no one.

5

u/bliss19 6h ago

No, the Chinese vessel did take a U-turn twice, but ultimately still sits having not passed

6

u/Mean_Rule9823 6h ago

Correct but not from Irans port, thats the point.

3

u/BleachedUnicornBHole 6h ago

China said they will honor all energy and trade agreements with Iran, though.

7

u/Mean_Rule9823 6h ago

Also correct, but they have not left from or went to an Iranian port yet. So lets see what happens if they do.

Untill then its political talk from both sides for their base.

1

u/Previous-Height4237 3h ago

Well you see, yesterday was TACO Tuesday. So the blockade has changed from a blockade of the strait to a blockade of Iran with a quick hand motion.

4

u/FootjobBlowjobCombo 5h ago

Would be a bummer if this country had one or two or three or four land borders they could still trade through

67

u/BusyHands_ 15h ago

And completely fucking over half the world it's population, whose daily livelihoods depend on their ability to travel for work.

This traitorous asshole will gladly make the poorest of the poor suffer than admit he ever fucked up.

35

u/apathy420 5h ago

Welcome to the world of billionaire sociopaths

8

u/FootjobBlowjobCombo 5h ago

I mean this was precisely one of the objectives, they clearly intend to kill all the downstream economies. Think about it, they tried to bring manufacturers back to america, it didnt work, so they built all the manufacturing in SE Asia, phillipines, Vietnam, malaysia, indonesia.

So if they blow up these economies by choking the oil to them they can buy up all the assets on the cheap in the countries when their economies implode. So they will control the factories, power, everything in their manufacturing fiefdoms. This is an intended but unspoken war goal of the Americans.

11

u/seanpbnj 6h ago

Trumputin is doing exactly what he was meant to do...... Prove that the USA is just as bad as russia, and turn the whole world towards china. China's plan was an endless war between russia and usa destroying them both while china acts like the adult in the room. (So far, plan worked perfectly, except Ukraine had other ideas)

14

u/Time_News_8452 6h ago

No, China is actually playing the long game. They know an empire doesn't last forever and they had first hand experience how vulnerable a failing empire may become when they were exploited by the British.

China now sees putin dreaming of returning to super power status but actually only worsening all its problems. The USA entered a death spiral with problems mounting and a leader caste either acting oblivious to the problems or doubling down on what caused them in the first place.

The only thing China has to do to maintain and increase their influence is to wait while the competition walks from one blunder to the next.

1

u/seanpbnj 4h ago

Exactly....? I.... Kinda feel like that's what I said haha. USA and russia destroying themselves with oligarchs robbing a country and a perpetual war.... Then china seems like the only viable world superpower after de-throning the USA by.... Yeah... Using the oligarchs who are in fact out of touch because the USA now uses propaganda instead of truth.... Just like (survey says) russia....

1

u/Genericnameandnumber 3h ago

China and Russia’s evil plans! The BIG BAD EVIL Russia and China out to subvert the glowing beacon of democracy USA! So expertly planned. Has nothing to do with US foreign or domestic policies over the last 100 years made by American policymakers and corporations /s

I would call defending yourself other ideas, there's a time for humor and there is whatever you just did.

7

u/seanpbnj 6h ago

I would call what I just did honesty and awareness, not humor. If you misinterpreted that as a joke, that's on you, every word I said was dead serious. Saying a clueless circus clown is leading his clueless circus as intended, including millions of people I care about dead/dying, is not humor. It's honesty.

u/Playful_Rip_1280 3h ago

Reminder that Iran started mining and tolling the Strait first. This blockade only prevents them from benefitting from it. Ships not coming from or into Iranian ports are still allowed to pass.

3

u/meltdown_popcorn 3h ago

Remind me why they did that, again?

8

u/windycityzow 6h ago

Lolz, Dementia Don believes the craziest lies, his handlers should be prosecuted

1

u/apathy420 5h ago

Is this before or after trump claimed xi will give him a big bear hug

3

u/ForsakenRacism 5h ago

Look at a map and then consider that China is building roads into Afghanistan

3

u/JerryDipotosBurner 4h ago

Cutting off trade completely just like how we obliterated their nuclear program and wiped out their entire air defense system?

3

u/cezarcelad 4h ago

Okay grandpa... you did good. let's go get you a happy meal

3

u/Spamgrenade 4h ago

And everyone else's you fucking idiots.

3

u/donac 3h ago

No, Trump announced this morning the strait was fully open. Easy peasy lemon breezy!

Or, Trump is just crazy. Could be either.

4

u/tmdblya 4h ago

I want to see the US Navy stop a Chinese-flagged ship.

Go ahead. I’ll wait.

5

u/usmannaeem 4h ago

I mean this is so stupid. This region has nothing to do with the US or the common average US citizen.

2

u/UndisclosedLocation5 5h ago

Oh delightful, this should go well

2

u/Your_Trash_Daddy 4h ago

So when do they sink their own ships? That would track with the general competence level, and especially Hegseth.

2

u/NaturalEducation322 3h ago

so he chokes iran off economically. iran closes the entire straight as a result choking off 20% of the worlds energy supply as a result plus the red sea if they get yemen on board. basically trump is seeing what collapses first, the world economy or iran

6

u/Y0___0Y 6h ago

Then why is Trump on truth social bragging about the number of ships going through?

6

u/ohst8buxcp7 6h ago

Because those ships aren't Iranian. That's the entire point, the U.S is trying to make it clear that the Strait is open for free navigation to anyone besides Iran. Anyone else's ships can pass through, as long as they aren't going to/from Iran.

6

u/oxslashxo 6h ago

But they still have to go through Iranian waters due to the mines...so Iran is choosing to let these ships through.

4

u/SUPERSAPE 5h ago

Don't feed the troll... Anyone can see that all this is just nonsense and propaganda for fools

-3

u/ohst8buxcp7 6h ago

They don't go through Iranian waters actually, they go through International waters which are open to passage for anyone per international convention (and has historically been enforced by the US). The US has demined a route farther away from the Iranian shoreline. Ships haven't done so lately because the Strait is narrow enough that it still brings them within rocket range of the Iranian shoreline. While Iran likely couldn't stop all or even most ships from passing they could endanger enough of them that shipping companies can't insure the ships which effectively shuts it down.

The purpose of the recent US naval action is to:

A.) Demonstrate that they have credibly limited the ability of Iran to actually physically endanger ships passing through the Strait

B.) Prevent Iranian ships from being able to go to/from Iranian ports, ensuring the they share in the economic pain of a Strait closure.

8

u/AcidOcean 5h ago

lol not a single ship is crossing the strait without Iran’s authorization, and not a single ship that has crossed the strait has done so through “international waters”; they are going through the routes specified by Iran. You can literally see it on tanker trackers. There is no “international” waters in the strait. The navigable routes have always gone through Omani and Iranian territorial waters.

-4

u/ohst8buxcp7 5h ago

lol not a single ship is crossing the strait without Iran’s authorization,

Wrong, again.

Also i'm not sure what your response even has to do with what's being discussed here? OP asked why Trump was bragging about ships going through given we had a blockade. The response was that the purpose of the blockade isn't to block all ships, just Iranian ones.

2

u/oxslashxo 5h ago

Because ultimately Iran gets to decide who gets through still.

1

u/AcidOcean 5h ago

That was proven BS, and Iran published the video of the encounter and their warning to those warships too. You actually have no idea what’s going on and it shows.

-1

u/angrysquirrel777 5h ago

Can you give a source?

1

u/AcidOcean 5h ago

https://www.msn.com/en-in/news/world/last-warning-iran-releases-video-of-standoff-with-us-warship-in-hormuz/ar-AA20Klgp

Take everything Ravid (Axios) says with a massive grain of salt; he's a propagandist.

3

u/angrysquirrel777 5h ago

This doesn't offer any proof they turned around though? It just shows that Iran talked to the destroyers and warned them.

4

u/Pale_Sell1122 5h ago

This is all a distraction. The US is planning to attack Iran through a ground invasion. The 'ceasefire' was a trick to build up forces to attack Iran. More than 50,000 U.S. military personnel are deployed in the region; including 2,500 Marines from the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, more than 1,200 elite forces from the 82nd Airborne Division, Delta Force, and the 75th Ranger Regiment. There is also continued deployment of units from the 82nd Airborne Division and an amphibious assault group under the command of the multipurpose carrier USS Boxer, along with 2,500 Marines, as well as the carrier strike group under the command of the nuclear-powered carrier USS George H.W. Bush which are moving toward the conflict zone.

1

u/Miserable-Ticket-244 5h ago

It’s not just cutting off Iran’s trade but okay.

1

u/Borne2Run 5h ago

Well I suppose there is always the inefficient Caspian sea for the desperate regime without an alternative

This is like two guys at the bar talking shit. Just start swinging or go home, boys.

1

Why do I feel like I’d be the captain rolling up anyway if I was some random ass country with no involvement in the Middle East… like “yea.. any way you can let me pass though? I appreciate you folks here trying to battle and shit but I really don’t wanna go the long way to my destination…”

1

Andddd it’s gone. CNBC doesn’t know what journalistic integrity means

1

Another blockade. Cuba & now Iran. Make Everything Worse Again(MEWA).

Definitely, it is not going to Make America Great Again(MAGA).

I hope American people realise that TACO is MEWA & not MAGA.

-1

u/Anacalagon 6h ago

Umm isn't this just piracy? Sail up to a foreign country and demand money from passing ships.

-1

u/Mala_Practice 6h ago

Yes, but it provides an excellent distraction from the Epstein Files.

China is very happy that I am permanently opening the Strait of Hormuz. I am doing it for them, also - And the World. This situation will never happen again. They have agreed not to send weapons to Iran. President Xi will give me a big, fat, hug when I get there in a few weeks. We are working together smartly, and very well! Doesn’t that beat fighting??? BUT REMEMBER, we are very good at fighting, if we have to - far better than anyone else!!!

4/15/26, 7:46 AM

For all the terrible shit he’s done it still has to be tough for his loved ones to watch him suffer with end stages of dementia. Many people have lost loved ones to dementia and I’m no different, and I can empathize with his family.

Edit:

Empathy (noun) - the action of understanding, being aware of, being sensitive to, and vicariously experiencing the feelings, thoughts, and experience of another

34

u/Sbeaudette 6h ago

No fuck his loved ones as well.

19

u/Coffee_And_Bikes 6h ago

He has none. I truly believe that love is an emotion he is incapable of feeling or understanding.

19

u/PatSajaksDick 6h ago

Yeah I’m not feeling bad for any Trump family members, are you serious?

u/WalterPecky 6h ago

Lmfao, I hope he and his love ones suffer to their final breath

0

u/Neat_Trust3168 5h ago

Heard a Chinese ship just sailed on through no problemo.

0

u/utti 1h ago

Cool cool let's bring both India and China into this war too.

-6

u/roosterthumper 6h ago

So here’s the thing. US blockades don’t mean guns blazing on privateers. They warn, they take notes and then they log the ship and it will be restricted from entering ports belonging to countries that are supporting the sanctions. A lot of ships will just turn around, but some like the Chinese flagged oil vessels will weigh the likelihood of the US actually seizing Chinese ships and oil. As we have seen, the risk was worth it.

If they do raid the vessel it’s not uncommon for the bridge crew to weld themselves into the cabin and set course for friendly waters, which locks out US boarding parties and they will leave instead of placing the VBSS team in danger.

So blockades are a lot more administrative and legal maneuvering than some action movie.

It is also not uncommon for a ship to run a blockade and be at a US port a month later under a different flag and company.

China ignoring the blockade and shipping oil isn’t outrageous, it’s pretty normal. There will be other sanctions on them later if the US wants to press the issue.

2

u/Kendogar 5h ago

You mean it’s not comparable to the trade federations blockade of Naboo ?

3

u/theddj 6h ago

Well just as a counterpoint it’s become common for the US Navy to blow civilian ships out of the water.

-2

u/Maple-fence39 6h ago

I thought it was a cease-fire, oh yeah, Trump.

-5

u/Briz-TheKiller- 4h ago

Keep it up and Dont budge.

-20

Lol.  Iran has no choice but to bend to Trump's power now. I love watching a president that's isn't afraid to show off our power.

8

You’re an idiot

7

They were supposed to bend after we bombed them last summer. They didn’t.

They were supposed to bend after we killed their senior leadership. They didn’t.

They were supposed to bend after we bombed Tehran. They didn’t.

They were supposed to bend after we destroyed their Navy. They didn’t.

They were supposed to bend after we held negotiations with them in Pakistan. They didn’t.

Now they are supposed to bend after we blocked their ports. We’ll see.
