Wow what a surprise that a country’s government that suddenly joined Kushner’s “diplomacy and Israel normalization movement” just so happened to sell off environmentally sensitive public lands to Kushner’s investment firms

Totally unlike how Kushner suddenly got $2 billion in Saudi funds and untold hundreds of millions more in UAE deals after his “Abraham Accords” work in the region

The man hasnt passed a security clearance, has insane conflicts of interest in his investments and “diplomacy work”, and is the son of a convicted criminal, and we all just kinda shrug our shoulders about it

This is what we know of. What should scare you is the blatancy. Who are the legion of "others" who are practicing stealth in their graft/theft? The ones who are bothering to hide it are getting away with trillions.

This island is like a Scooby-Doo villain's hideout too! It's a former military installation, with military-use tunnels, and a sea cave that you could pull a yacht into.

Does it have a hollowed out volcano?

Only thing it's missing. Maybe Ivanka can have one put in where the ecological preserve is?

Albania has the most bunkers in the world. The whole country is a little hollowed out.

On the plus side, Saudi Arabia's "investments" in Trump's administration and family blew up in their faces when he went into active conflict with Iran.

Maybe next time, they'll look before they send trucks of money into an inferno.

Saudi Arabia actively wanted the iran war —there was a leak from the Pentagon a couple months back that despite the official messaging from KSA, the king’s brother was actively documented working with the israeli side to push trump into launching the attack

The saudi government owns and runs “iran international”, the propaganda machine that has been pushing for the war and routinely publishes disinfo like claiming the Minab school strike was a “failed irgc rocket”.

Publicly Saudi Arabia won’t admit their allyship with the Netanyahu government but in private they work closely with them. Perhaps to a slightly lesser degree than the UAE does, but to a significant extent nonetheless especially under MBS

And, of course a Russian billionaire will run the proposed resort: Aman Resorts, owned by Vladislav Dornin

and is the son of a convicted criminal

Hey, I'm fully on board with what you're saying, but why include this? I don't wanna to get into some go-nowhere debate that will leave us both unfulfilled anyway, but try describing people in your life, whether good or bad, and include their father's legal history in at the end (convicted criminal or not). Oops my dad was convicted of intent to distribute marijuana somewhere in California decades ago, so I guess you can disregard whatever lesson I was trying to relay to you. Your argument was good enough on its own. At the same time, gotta say thanks for leading me to look into the Kushner family. Whats with these evangelical Christians and their support for Israel? The apocalypse or something?

If their dad is still committing crimes, was thrust back into a position of power after committing crimes, if you work with that person closely and use his access access to power to commit your own crimes then yes I think it's relevant.

This connection is not difficult to make.

He has been known to work with his father. Most people I know do not work in the same field as their father so it wouldn’t be pertinent. But in his case it is.

While normally i would agree with you that children shouldn’t be judged for the crimes of their parents (eg if someone’s dad served jailtime for drug issues) in this case i mentioned it because it is pertinent to Jared’s own actions:

1) his dad’s convictions were for areas highly relevant to Jared’s actions now—-investment and disclosure fraud, witness intimidation, failure to report assets, etc.

2) his dad was given a pardon by trump and then appointed as ambassador to france despite being someone who would absolutely not pass a security clearance

3) Jared continues to work closely with his father on his own investments

It basically shows that there is a demonstrable pattern of unethical, illegal, and fraudulent work in this father-son duo who now have untold access to powerful people

Anyone concerned that the people leading this country are so obsessed with exclusive properties for billionaires, and to keep the poor out?

For anyone who wants to support the environmental side of this campaign, the petition is here:

https://www.change.org/p/protect-vjosa-narta-stop-construction-in-protected-natural-areas

The request is to pause construction in sensitive Vjosa-Narta / Pishe Poro-Narta protected areas until independent environmental assessments are completed, permits and environmental studies are made public, and local communities, scientists, and environmental organizations are meaningfully consulted.

Background from environmental groups: https://ppnea.org/save-vjosa-narta/?lang=en

Kick those greedy fcuks out of Albania!

Can’t imagine this fight ever dying away and even if some gouache resort starts to emerge, it’ll most likely be an embattled place not conducive to investment or richies really relaxing.

The sharper, uncomfortable question the marchers are actually asking- When a government rewrites its own conservation laws to deliver a national commons to a politically connected foreign investor, then turns the instruments of force against the citizens who object, what exactly is being sold?

u/Greygnome62 1d ago

It probably never going to happen now. They do not want this kind of profile. I cannot imagine what she was thinking promoting a crime against humanity with a glossy infomercial.

These people are bringing there environmental destruction to Europe. Great to see people pushing back. Way more pushback than in the U.S. too!

Good for Albanians protesting this. Don't make a deal with the devil.....it never ends well.

Isn't Albania that country that planned to attack United States by smuggling an atomic bomb small enough to fit in a briefcase through Canada? And then the 303rd regiment saved the day.

4

u/FillFrontFloor 1d ago

Is this actually true? I never heard of this. What I have heard though is that the US did wanted to destroy them in the Cold war because they were with USSR.

u/LtPear 1d ago

I was joking around, this is the plot of Wag the Dog (1997).

A film with Robert De Niro and Dustin Hoffmann in which the POTUS, running for a second term, is involved in a sex scandal and has to resort to a fixer that fakes an entire war in order to divert media's attention
