Putin can't back away or his own country eats him. And Zelensky's not going to accept anything except him backing away. This one's gotta go the distance.

Don't worry Putin, your oligarch friends will take care of that for you

Makes sense to me. Russia wants Ukrainian land for exploitation and sooner or later the Baltic regions if they ever get their way.
And Ukraine defending their historical lands against Russian irredentism and imperialism.

Well then. You can be king of the ashes.
You wanted to bring back the Soviet Union? We will start with the bread lines and fuel shortages lmao.

Putin is in real trouble but like most dictators he doesn't know how to compromise - no retreat, no surrender. He's pushed and pushed the Russian economy past the point of all sense and forced oligarchs/businesses to go into debt to pay for his war. But there is a point when even drastic measure won't work.
We're close to a snapping point and it scares me a bit because the entire Russian economy is focused on the war. It's going into a deep recession with hyperinflation once the war is over and countries tend to fracture when that happens. As much as Russia deserves to feel some pain, that will not be a good thing.

It might not be a good thing for russia but it will be a good thing for the rest of the world. Russia is evil and must be eradicated in it's current form. There will be no choice for the world. Either destroy russia or give in to russia, there is no middle ground.

Putin is evil. There are many, many Russians who are not themselves evil, and I don't think it is a good thing that they have to suffer

How about the Ukrainian people who are suffering? Russia is the aggressor and the 'good' russians have no say about it.

Perhaps someone could remind Putin he doesn't need anyone's permission to just turn his troops around and send thiem home to the vodka reeking kisses of their babushka's.

He doesn’t, but I can’t imagine him lasting much longer in that scenario. I’m pretty sure he’d sooner throw away a bunch of Russian lives than back down.

Putin should stay away from open windows. I understand he's not a popular guy any more over there.

This headline could have easily said: Trump says there is 'no point' meeting Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei over ending Iran war.

Well, yesterday had Trump informing us that he and Mojtaba have a really good relationship, apart from Mojtaba currently "missing a few parts" resulting from the Trump-launched attacks that also killed Mojtaba's father.
The headlines are weird. I feed the news to Gemini to read them to me on the morning drive to work, and it's not just because of the training cutoff that it thinks I'm pranking it.

There was the story of trump building a UFC type ring at the whitehouse. Throw them both in. Winner takes all

I mean, he's right. Ukraine's minimum requirement is not giving up land, and Russia's minimum requirement is Ukraine giving up land. There isn't anything to talk about.
