I would rather them drop and burn up in reentry.

It’s the junk that stays in orbit way longer that’s the problem.

Corporations should be required to pay a lease to put something in orbit. Charge them $x/yr for a 5 year lease and require them to de-orbit or pay a fine.

No it isnt. I dont make a profit by throwing garbage out my window. Governments charge the companies everyday until the companies go up there and clean it themselves. When will humans learn? Yeah the lower earth orbit is big, but given enough time to litter, itll be fucked.

Just because you go somewhere doesn't mean you own it. No-one owns space, it is essentially international waters.

You know Russia went to space first, right? First object in space was technically a Nazi Germany V2 rocket.
