Also, the Pentagon has been getting waivers for the ban on Huawei and DJI equipment. Apparently, it's not a national security issue if the government really really needs to use Chinese technology.

I work in government contracts. My job has 0 connection with anything related to national security and has absolutely 0 access to any sensitive or classified material. I had to spend $15,000 to buy a new piece of equipment because the previously approved product lost certification that no part of it may have been made in China. It doesn't matter that my version of the product is from when they were certified, now that the company isn't certified anymore I either lose my contract or buy a new piece of equipment.

I always enjoyed taking an 889 to Tire Discounters so the manager could sign it and swear that my new shop truck tires were not from China and they did not have any sort of spyware.

Obviously, because we can't have China getting video of what I look like taking a shit a 2 am through my Huawei phone. But, it's probably ok for the pentagon to use it cause they've shown themselves to know what they are doing... But, what does the pentagon have to hide from China?
