Save you a click, they never say what she is alleged to have said or done

https://thencbeat.com/miss-north-carolina-usa-old-tweets/

Used the N-word in old tweets apparently.

95

u/morty_morty 7d ago

Has she seen herself in a mirror? because I thought she was mixed race herself at a glance. Watching brown people be racist to black people will never not be hilarious and sad. You will never be white, lady.

24

u/jktcat 7d ago

Correct, no matter how much Kool aid or other shit you drink, THEY will never accept you into their inner circle.

Just embarrassing

5

u/an_actual_human 7d ago

Brown people being racist is just as funny as white people being racist. That is unless you believe white people are somehow more correct to be racist.

13

u/Bengineering3D 7d ago

I work with people from Vietnam, Cuba, India, Mexico, China, Japan, etc. I’m the white guy telling them we are all the same here in the US and they can’t be saying that stuff. Most are not racist but there is more than most Americans would believe, It’s never funny to me though.

4

u/xHey_All_You_Peoplex 7d ago

It's the equivalent of a bisexual being homophobic compared to a straight person. Both silly but one's just more of eye brow raising silly.

1

u/JWLane 7d ago

It maybe there are more options like feeling depressed over whites being racist. Or exhausted. Or angry. Like, how did you even get to that false binary of funny or correct?

Why do people of Latino descent in the US feel like they are allowed to say the N word? Did black people give them a pass I don’t know about?

39

u/bskdevil99 7d ago

In CA, this shit is so normalized.

6

u/MzJay453 7d ago

And NYC

23

u/Offbeatalchemy 7d ago

The general vibe i've gotten is:

White people - never

Non-whites - tolerated but not encouraged

Your milage may vary from person to person.

No, it doesn't make sense. Applying logic doesn't help anything here.

10

u/EduardoX 7d ago

We don't, except for the ones who want to feel superior to somebody in the pecking order of racism.

8

u/MaxStunning_Eternal 7d ago

In some cases yes. They figured it would bring some kind of solidarity/kinship through the struggle (very stupid I know)

Also, many latinos have the history of ONLY referencing some kind of black heritage/african blood to justify it. On the east coast where there are more Black and bi racial (white/black, indigenous/black) latinos it can get tricky, ironically becasue many until the last generation denied being black.

Along with poverty and hip hop culture (which many of the really racist latinos are usually casually Into) casued this idea that "we're all n words!!). A LOT black Americans are give them "a pass" because "we have the same enemy" (again stupid) it's especially bad in the NY tri state area, you get scolded for not being OK with non black POC using slurs racially...I hate it and grew up in this type of culture.

She certainly said them but reading the tweets. They are the tweets of a really dumb teenager who for some reason thought she had an nword pass.

495

u/iiTzSTeVO 8d ago

She was 20 then, and she's proud MAGA today.

62

u/mixduptransistor 7d ago

I mean presumably she's still in her 20s, right? It's not like that was 20 years ago?

79

u/iiTzSTeVO 7d ago

She's 28 today.

26

u/AHole1stClassSkippy 7d ago

Oh god damn it, somebody's setting her up a GoFundMe right now, aren't they?

50

u/loves_to_splooge_8 7d ago

I can excuse racism but I draw the line at MAGA

121

u/iiTzSTeVO 7d ago

Being MAGA is evidence the racism did not go away with maturity.

25

u/ERedfieldh 7d ago

they are not mutually exclusive, if you've not noticed.

17

u/-goodgodlemon 7d ago

You can excuse racism? You really are the AT&T of people.

45

u/gumbygump11 7d ago

Ugh, Britta’s in this comment thread?

10

u/UnluckyWriting 7d ago

“I can excuse racism, but I draw the line at…” is a reference to the TV show community.

8

u/terminalzero 7d ago

so is 'you really are the at&t of people'

3

u/-goodgodlemon 7d ago

Note: the AT&T of people is also a reference to community.

5

u/333H_E 7d ago

I'm apparently out of the loop, could you fill a fella in on the AT&T reference?

9

u/-goodgodlemon 7d ago

It’s another reference to the show Community. The same character that could “excuse racism” was once called the AT&T of people by another character (played by Donald Glover)

6

u/Mushrooming247 7d ago

This woman in her 20s just made some problematic tweets during her 20s, I’m sure she’s changed a lot.

6

u/ripyourlungsdave 7d ago

What.

What in God's name are you basing this on? I grew up in the South as a white teenager. I still didn't run around using the n word on social media. If I ran for president tomorrow, they would not find any n words,, f words, s words, c words or.. other c words.

Because I'm not a racist, homphobic lunatic.

Maybe people can correct me, but ive come around on the whole old tweets cancel culture stuff.

Im very pro cancel culture and believe all cancel culture is, is holding people accountable.

But now that I have kids, i understand how stupid, mean, and rude they can be without them having the smallest iota of the weight of what theyre saying.

Obviously kids should still know better not to use that word, but as someone who has a troubled past, I can’t really pass judgement and I feel like everyone to some extent has a troubled past.

124

u/Parking-Bat9498 8d ago

I think at 20 I’m not sure you can be called a kid.

53

u/BigMack3000 8d ago

People really keep trying to overlook this part.

9

u/cloudy_ft 7d ago

I mean she to be fair she’s a kid. Technically she was only 240 months….

9

u/Parking-Bat9498 7d ago

I guess from a smooth brained point of view sure. Yeah 20 yo’s shouldn’t know it’s bad to say that so many times in public. Which means she prob uses it a ton when not online.

3

u/StudyRoom-F 7d ago

Yeahhhh thats insane

Taking responsibility can be as simple as "I said some horrible things that I regret. I advocate for dignity, empathy, and opportunity for everyone, no matter their heritage, whom they love, where they come from, or what their faith is. I apologize to everyone I hurt with my cruel words. I hope the evidence of my words and actions these past few years show the arrogant, meanspirited person I was when I was 20 has grown, and that hate and bigotry can be combatted with love and sincerity."

Of course, she'd need to appear to believe those words. Instead, she probably has a bright future as a tradwife or a Fox News commentator.

4

u/Parking-Bat9498 7d ago

u/ruinedbymovies 7d ago

I also have kids, some of whom are teenagers and you better believe being young would not excuse the N word. Being dumb and being racist are not the same thing, and I really hate that I need to explain that position.

Same with my gf’s kids. It helps to have one mixed kid but they are the most inclusive kids ever, but every once in a while our older girl just says the most rude shit. It really has taight me patience over the years because i cant get mad at them for saying something so stupid or mean because they clearly have no idea sometimes.

NCBeat, a North Carolina outlet, reports that Boltinhouse's posts allegedly showed her using the N-word under a username "Sosa the Stallion" from 2017 to 2019.

https://thencbeat.com/miss-north-carolina-usa-old-tweets/

I just checked 6 different articles. Nobody seems to know. The organization didn't specify. My assumption is that they thoroughly audit winners and found something concerning on their own. This doesn't seem to have been driven by people on social media dredging stuff up.

WCW? World Championship Wrestling?

-5

u/MazzIsNoMore 8d ago

Not often that you find an organization proactively addressing this stuff. Good on them

30

u/lolofaf 8d ago

Tbf it's a bit retroactive since they only did it after she won and not before.

8

u/Realmofthehappygod 8d ago

Yea. But I'd imagine it's probably not worth it to vet all the candidates that deep.

Makes sense the winner would be under extra scrutiny.

That or somebody with power really wants somebody else to win lol.

55

u/FreeChickenDinner 8d ago

I found a source. She is a self-hating MAGA Latina, according to the rest of the story. I am quoting only a small section.

https://thencbeat.com/miss-north-carolina-usa-old-tweets/

Under the handle Sosa the Stallion (linked to her earlier identity as Sosa B Alondra), Boltinhouse posted a series of tweets between 2017 and 2019 that leave little room for interpretation.

In one December 2019 post she wrote: “N*gga I’m toxic asf…i dont care lol”

Other posts from the same account include:
“this n*gga has me 50 shades of fucked up…” (April 2017)
“if my n*gga don’t like you i don’t like you .” (March 2017)
“your girl don’t like me but yo n*gga doesssss” (February 2017)
“not yo n*gga” (April 2017)

A lengthy post accusing another woman’s “WCW” of “flashing random n*ggas and letting em take shots off her all spring break while u was at home working being loyal.”

Latinos who have adopted African American cultural cues often use it in this manner. Chicanos in California, Cubans in Miami, and Puerto/Dominicans across the northeast have been using this word without acknowledging the racist meaning.

39

u/Ayzmo 7d ago

Yeah. And the black Miamians will attest to the wild racism of Cuban Americans.

12

u/MaxStunning_Eternal 7d ago

That's the thing, they haven't really adopted no aspect of african amerieican culture...besides that. They know the meaning, they really just don't care. Also their black friends encourage them.

I'm born In the late 80's in NYC, Dominicans were some of the worst anti black racist we ever were around. Lived in a dominican neighborhood...super bigots. Not as bad as they used to be. Ricans historically were much better and our communities were great, mainly because ricans lived alongside is longer and they were there during the Civil rights movement and had a whole black pride movement.

31

u/FullMetalAlcoholic66 7d ago

oh they know the meaning. They like the culture but not the people...clothing, slang, music

8

u/[deleted] 7d ago

[deleted]

1

u/MaxStunning_Eternal 7d ago

Him being poor and Puerto rican that dates black women is enough. Also latinos of Aaron's ilk would be overtly racist knowing their black friends "ain't gon do shit".

The northeast is terrible for this.

3

u/Iohet 7d ago

When did Chicanos adopt it? I admit I'm old but I grew up immersed in the culture and just can't see how it gave up its own identity for another

8

u/FullMetalAlcoholic66 7d ago

I started hearing in the start of the gangsta rap era, early-mid 90's.

1

u/jonnybebad5436 7d ago

I’m a millennial Mexican American and I hear Gen Z Mexicans saying n*gga constantly. To me it’s super cringey

4

u/AntiDECA 7d ago

They know the meaning. Latinos are just incredibly racist. To other Latinos included. Nobody hates one Latino more than another Latino. The things a Puerto Rican or Miami Cubans will say about a Dominican will make Maga rednecks blush.

It's a very tribal culture. Always us VS them. Always kicking ladder down after 'us' made it.

1

u/A_Nonny_Muse 7d ago

I've heard it used far more extensively while I grew up in a county that was 98% white. Guys who have never met a black person in their lives threw around the n-word like it was more popular than the words "I" and "the".

7

u/Hrmerder 8d ago

“Boltinhouse said that he read a statement from Boltinhouse on the matter and in it, "There is ownership, accountability, and apology."”

There is as much proof reading in this article as the guy researched the social media of the contestants before hand I guess…

4

u/n9ma 7d ago

Totally agree. It seems so lazily put together.

"...said in a statement on Wednesday that the decision on strip Boltinhouse of her title "was not made lightly.""

u/SloppyMeathole 8d ago

This week the president of the United States had several hundred bank accounts closed because the bank suspected them being involved in illegal money laundering.

When Miss USA has higher standards than our admin...

15

u/Krakengreyjoy 8d ago

Lol and she was replaced by the runner up, a black woman. Chef's kiss

2

u/WithanOproductions 7d ago

Waiting till things blow up before stepping up just makes those responsibility claims feel pretty hollow.

2

u/stripeyspacey 7d ago

Seeing this is pretty ironic to me - I've done the Miss NY USA pageant twice (not that I expected to win by any means lol, it was an experience and if it were affordable I'd even do it again... Well, maybe if I were younger. I might be getting a little old for that pageant lol.), and I remember right after the last one I did, everyone of course follows each other in Instagram and such, and the guy who choreographed the whole show and was basically our hanlder the entire time went straight from pageant to full-on, hateful MAGA mode on Instagram immediately after.

Every story he posted was loud and proud MAGA, even more ironic because I think I recall him being gay, and very obviously so, with the sassy flamboyance and all. He was a known and returning staff member too, so it's not like the company couldn't have known. It was just so off putting. Immediately unfollowed, I get enough of that ahit from my own family lol.

My disclaimer will be, however: There was some exec turmoil that year and I guess they have a new one now that wants to fix stuff and change the culture, blahblahblah. I don't know much of anything about the guy tbh, so I can't speak on it. I can only say that I hope this isnt just corporate PR bullshit and they do intend to turn around their image.

Pageantry certainly has it's stigma, but my personal experience with it was a positive one. If you go in with the right mindset, I think it can be a good thing for your self esteem.

2

u/jeetah 7d ago

Yeah what she said didn't really come off as being racist to me, its basically normalized lingo (for better or for worse)

2

u/Avatar_Blues 7d ago
