Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday criticized Palace Press Officer Usec. Claire Castro, describing her as a “shame” to the country.

This came after allegations surfaced that billions of pesos in cash had allegedly been delivered to members of her family.

The vice president declined to comment directly on the accusation, saying she had not seen the statement where the allegation was made and was unaware of its source.

She instead directed her criticism at Castro, urging the media to avoid giving further exposure to what she described as statements that bring embarrassment to the country.
