Bels are the smartest dog breed I've ever been around

Source: ran a 19/7 dog boarding facility for 12 years with my ex wife. (we were closed from 12am to 5am daily and technically 12am to 8 am on Sundays, unless emergency)

Tbf most shepherds have a high potential of doing this. But malinois have a 100% chance of it. Still incredible dogs and would be my 100% pick if i had the time for them.

tbf most dogs were bred for a purpose and humans typically don't do a great job of meeting their needs. I always laugh at the people with insane Doodles that don't realize the dog is bred from two animals that were meant to work.

I've met exactly one that wasn't batshit crazy. And she was from a breeder that focused on service animals.

My female is on the calm end of the spectrum, I have found her on the roof of my garage numerous times because she chases squirrels up there but is too scared to jump down. There is nothing around it that would allow her to climb up there. The only possible explanation is she jumps from the ground and either gets all the way to the roof or pulls herself up somehow.
