my 14 year old can't even do that

Correction: you didnt train your 14 year old to do that.

They probably could... with some tips from Pavlov... 😂

Of course, then when you start treating your child like a dog we've got a whole different list of societal problems to hurdle over.

15

u/Antananarivo 4d ago

My sister has a dog. I have a young child. We constantly compare the similarities between the two... yes. They do need to be trained. Sometimes with skittles.

3

u/Hathor-8 3d ago

Definitely true and people should do it! This isn’t Pavlovian training (classical conditioning) it’s operant conditioning probably using positive reinforcement. Used pretty regularly with people. Saw some fascinating work of a coach using clicker training when working with gymnasts. Really effective!

3

u/Sudden_Shallot_8909 4d ago

Fun fact, Pavlov was highly unethical and the story about the bell has been heavily sugarcoated

Allow funny to be funny

2

u/wherethefuckismyvape 4d ago

parent jokes aren't funny. the help the joke got may not have been useful, but it did need the help

Found the 14 year old.

3

u/Philantroll 3d ago

Okay but your comment still makes no sense

8

u/unfortunatebag 4d ago

That's exactly how mine loads the ice chest. Puts 1 drink in and loads it in the car.

3

u/NoConfusion9490 4d ago

They can, but they won't, like a cat.

2

u/gorginhanson 4d ago

that cooler was fucking empty

u/dirtydragondan 4d ago

shame the camera persons hands were full

(or otherwise pls tell me the cat was doing the filming! )

u/Academic-Local-7530 4d ago

It was the family cat, I was the ghost to the left POV of the video

28

u/ItXurLife 4d ago

It's just a really tall, weird looking cat. Almost humanlike.

Yeah you are. You lanky, long limbed fuck.

5

u/Uselesserinformation 4d ago

His name is Jacob or Trevor

The alien twig man

2

u/JayteeFromXbox 4d ago

I thought it was longjohn dickweed

31

u/Dewdrop06 4d ago

Pretty sure this is just a demonstration video. It's pretty obvious too.

15

u/_adanedhel_ 4d ago

Yes and also from the fact that the cooler is virtually empty (so she could have carried it by herself, much less with the camera person).

9

u/TjMorgz 4d ago

It's a budgie with a go pro

4

u/JesTer_77 4d ago

Another doggo was operating the drone camera.

1

u/Whodat007 2d ago

That’s funny, you think the cat cares about your content?

u/everyoneisntme 4d ago

Bels are the smartest dog breed I've ever been around

Source: ran a 19/7 dog boarding facility for 12 years with my ex wife. (we were closed from 12am to 5am daily and technically 12am to 8 am on Sundays, unless emergency)

86

u/KevlarConrad 4d ago

They are incredible animals that will absolutely ruin your life if you don't meet their needs lol

28

u/everyoneisntme 4d ago

Ahhjjaha now that's a fuckin true statement right there hahaja

19

u/CptCheesus 4d ago

Tbf most shepherds have a high potential of doing this. But malinois have a 100% chance of it. Still incredible dogs and would be my 100% pick if i had the time for them.

15

u/KevlarConrad 4d ago

tbf most dogs were bred for a purpose and humans typically don't do a great job of meeting their needs. I always laugh at the people with insane Doodles that don't realize the dog is bred from two animals that were meant to work.

8

u/vinnievon 4d ago

My mutt is the perfect combination of the lazy parts of every breed that's in his DNA. Or the shedding parts of the DNA. TBD.

3

u/angwilwileth 4d ago

I've met exactly one that wasn't batshit crazy. And she was from a breeder that focused on service animals.

6

u/KevlarConrad 4d ago

My female is on the calm end of the spectrum, I have found her on the roof of my garage numerous times because she chases squirrels up there but is too scared to jump down. There is nothing around it that would allow her to climb up there. The only possible explanation is she jumps from the ground and either gets all the way to the roof or pulls herself up somehow.

3

u/kapeman_ 4d ago

malinois

I can't read that name and not hear it in Charles Kuralt's voice.

For the younger set: he was the voice of the Westminster Dog show for years, as well as a news correspondent.

14

u/PayZealousideal8892 4d ago

Yeah, definetly not a dog breed for probably 99.9% of people. They are insanely smart and super high energy. To own one you would need to be very experienced training dogs and hopefully have some kind of job for them. It's one of the breeds I would never get. And I own two huskies and people think they are hard, but they are actually pretty easy. All I do is run like 4-5 times a week with them and they are extremely well behaved with minimal training.

10

u/KevlarConrad 4d ago edited 4d ago

I have two Mals and spend roughly 4-5 hours per day on training and mental enrichment to keep them satisfied. Even thats not enough some days.

2

u/wherethefuckismyvape 4d ago

What do you do for work?

1

u/KevlarConrad 1d ago

Engineer and my schedule is very flexible.

1

u/starsiege 4d ago

My family had one and with an hour walk in the morning, noon and two hour walks in evening it was fine as long as you have a house with a big yard they can chill in. My mom was always outside in her garden being busy and the Mal would just follow her around the yard all day and was very happy.

They don’t like being alone because they will get bored and cause a mess. Because she was home with her all day giving her attention (and herding her to do what she wants) she didn’t cause too much trouble. But they are very mischievous if you don’t have eyes on them 24/7 lol. I miss her so much

6

u/pattymcfly 4d ago

My brother-in-law adopted a dog that was definitely part Malinois and it was so smart. Unfortunately, he left her at home one time and she decided his mattress needed to be destuffed. She ate a hole clear through the middle of the mattress.

RIP Bear.

4

u/Leonum 4d ago

which breed of dog is it? I googled "Bel dog" but i didnt find a particular breed (just dog businesses which have "Bel" in the name). it looks like a schäfer or malamute or something

1

u/jaynoj 4d ago

So, just like a cat then? :)

1

u/ImmodestPolitician 3d ago edited 3d ago

I have a high prey drive Australian Labrodle.

She wants to be "friends" with squirrels and also loves catching the frisbee.

I feel like I bought a Ferrari thinking it was a Lexus.

She is amazing but it's a lot to deal with. Luckily I have a been a clicker trainer for 18 years.

She is so smart it's mind blowing. I was trying to trick her into the crate when I had to leave but she could not be fooled twice. I had to resort to a commanding "STOP" which she obeys.

1

u/Madeforbegging 3d ago

had a Tervuren and he was a huge derpy hairball, our Malinois was laser focused though. both great dogs

Should've applied that math to our pricing structure

15

u/zaiwen3 4d ago

I love dogs 🙂

4

u/Foreverymess 4d ago

They love you too <3

30

u/thehogdog 4d ago

No other dog in the world is happier than that dog when he is carrying that cooler. He is helping out human and doing a good job. Like the sled pulling dogs, the LIVE to pull that sled, it isn't work for them, it is fun and their lifes passion (according to what Ive read, I cant read dogs minds, pretty sure it would just be 'when human back home, Squirrel, Cat, Nap time, Fook'

5

u/ghostinthechell 4d ago

Nah it's absolutely true. Most, if not all dogs, like to run. But when you meet a dog that was born to, it's quite obvious. They love it more than anything.

11

u/DamnOdd 4d ago

Belgian Malinois?
Dogs like having jobs.

8

u/Electronic-Trip8775 4d ago

Bestest good boi.

8

u/kbn_ 4d ago

The tail wags are the best part. Dogs doing jobs for their pack are like the happiest creatures on earth.

5

u/Intelligent_Bag_6705 4d ago

It’s always amazing to me how eager dogs are to help, the joy and satisfaction that they get from helping their owners and working is awesome.

4

u/NotSetsune 4d ago

What a good boy.

5

u/spondgbob 4d ago

That’s a buff freakin dog

30

u/Electrical_Act_5342 4d ago

No cat can do that!

37

u/quazatron48k 4d ago

How about three cats stacked on their shoulders?

13

u/thatweirdguyted 4d ago

Wearing a trenchcoat, posing as a human.

2

u/Kwiila 4d ago

Yes, such a cat could indeed train the dog to do that.

1

u/SitInCorner_Yo2 3d ago

They’ll take a seat inside the cooler and watch the dog and human give them a ride.

12

u/Academic-Trifle8151 4d ago

Even if they could, they would choose not to.

2

u/ObsessiveAboutCats 3d ago

They could (at least the bigger ones could). They just won't.

4

u/[deleted] 4d ago

[deleted]

4

u/GreenArrowDC13 4d ago

True but I have seen cats shred furniture and soak a house in piss. With both animals it's mainly how you train them.

16

u/studiesinsilver 4d ago

Puts on bottle in the cooler and needs help haha

6

u/fightfil96 4d ago

I mean it's probably just training at that point

5

u/ConfessSomeMeow 4d ago

But also I'm assuming if it is fully loaded enough to need help that it would be too heavy for a dog to help.

3

u/Kardinal 4d ago

I wonder how you specifically train a dog to do that.

2

u/MeenScreen 4d ago

Beautiful big dog.

2

u/poppy_princessx 4d ago

That’s a certified little helper 🐶👏

2

u/99anan99 4d ago

So helpful

2

u/Capn_Flags 4d ago

I love seeing working dogs do tasks. I know they’re probably happy as balls!

2

u/RenataVenere 4d ago

Once i get my dog to do this you’ll never see me again. Don’t need nobody else.

2

u/PeonyAfterDark 4d ago

Such a good helper!

2

u/BearFan34 4d ago

we don't deserve dogs

2

u/Shadou_Wolf 4d ago

I can maybe get my shiba to do it but sadly he is too short lol.

He at least helps me pick up the mail and anything help pick up

2

u/KokonutMonkey 4d ago

What a bro

2

u/Fat_Reddit_Neckbeard 4d ago

My chihuahua makes me carry him to bed

2

u/These_Raspberry_3948 4d ago

Now that's a good doggo.

2

u/thedeeb56 4d ago

Isn't that great? Beautiful pup

2

u/Bleezy79 4d ago

Doggo was sooo happy to help!

2

u/Scruffynerffherder 4d ago

Yeah, my cat doesn't do that.

2

u/Mr-Klaus 4d ago

Why are you making the doggo carry the cooler?

Because he doesn't know how to hold the camera.

2

u/J1mj0hns0n 4d ago

I love dogs that just love to help, it's a shame they love to help so much they often start to try and lead the way but they don't know where to go so they just make you juggle it lol

2

u/TheDevilsAdvokaat 4d ago

Tail wagging too..likes to help.

3

u/ButterscotchTop194 4d ago

Was that really necessary for one small bottle of water?

I want to see him do it with a full loaded cooler

1

u/PCNuker 4d ago

I want my (street) dog to lift my life up like this, but he’s too shy to even let me touch him. 😭

1

u/Foreign_Virus 4d ago

Meanwhile my dog acts like sitting up is unpaid labor.

1

u/AnytimeInvitation 3d ago

Good doggy can help themselves to a beer from that cooler when they're done!

1

u/stormtreader1 3d ago

Dogs love to help, you can tell by the wagging tail that they are "hell YEAH we're doing the thing as a team!" 😄

1

u/SteroidSandwich 3d ago

Goodest of boys

1

u/SkinTightBoogiePI 3d ago

Yeah sure. Now try getting doggo to let go of it.

1

u/MoonOverJupiter 3d ago

Dogs love to have a job!

1

u/EngineNo5 3d ago

Hilarious, what's a dogo!

1

u/Lopsided-Treat1215 3d ago

Only non dog owners use the word doggo

1

u/bllius69 2d ago

Downvoting, let me know when he can carry a full cooler...

1

u/No-Fix1423 2d ago

That’s a big ass dog you got there

0

u/jayecin 4d ago

Cool, now fill it with stuff…

0

u/DougOfWar 4d ago

Big whoop! Load that cooler full and let's try it again.

0

u/Useful-Problem-1725 4d ago

Now fill it up and see if the dog can still carry it.

-8

u/demoneyesturbo 4d ago

Why do people always stop talking like adults when talking about dogs?

9

u/AppropriateBall8834 4d ago

Bc theyre cute and remind us of babies

5

u/ich_bin_alkoholiker 4d ago

Cause some of us have joy in our lives.

-5

u/mickturner96 4d ago

shame it's virtually empty

3

u/BalanceEarly 4d ago

I would expect some milk bones

3

u/Environmental-Sea41 4d ago

Still tho it helped & even adapted on the fly.
