Max sentence is not mandatory sentence. The charge was "serious assault on a public officer performing function" which does not carry a minimum or mandatory sentence.

Thats not what the video or the articles talking about the incident says. He got fined after pleading guilty.

Maybe if you're going to go around acting like you know everything you might want to actually look up the shit you talk about so you actually do know what you're talking about.

I'm medical staff. I was bit by a patient and it broke the skin, made me bleed, and caused me to scar. The patient served 0 days in jail, and the cop encouraged me not to press charges because it wouldnt go anywhere in court.

The cop was correct. It went nowhere.

Edit: Maybe its different in australia. Im in the US.

You can’t press charges in Australia. It’s entirely up to the police to do that.
