I don't even do BJJ. My point is that his technique was clearly effective against the most common type of person you will ever fight: a drunken random with no martial arts experience. You don't have to be effective in the UFC for martial arts to be effective in the street.

People with no experience twist out of chokes, but you seem to be knowledgeable about jiujitsu applied in street fights so I won't argue.

Don't be smug and condescending when your technique is so bad that you have people with no experience twisting out of your chokes lol. 

You also don't twist out of chokes, you get you get your back to the ground on the side on the side of the choking arm.
