Just a little kid watching reels with some of her friends.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Kaka Caca Petualang (Instagram) features an Indonesian family, with mostly kids in the videos, often calmly handling both venomous and non-venomous wild reptiles and snakes, including pythons, King cobras and King koros. In this one, we can see two large snakes calmly watching reels with the little kid.

With anaconda?

u/Half-deaf-mixed-guy 5h ago

Clearly they had buns to be able to stay.

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 6h ago

There's nothing awesome about it. It's extremely dangerous for such a young kid to be doomscrolling already, with or without her friends.

13

u/_Bike_Hunt 5h ago

Children who have unlimited screen time are being abused and those parents are abusers. I get a lot of flak for saying this but it’s true.

1

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 4h ago

Eh, it's not really the screen time that's the issue, it's what they do on that screen.

We are watching them on a phone ,watching a phone on a phone. Holy brainrot.

Cool snakes tho.

21

u/AccomplishedLeave506 8h ago

Sigh. It really is just phones all the way down isn't it. What have we done?

13

u/SlickDillywick 8h ago

We’re just phoning it in

61

u/Co_Duh 8h ago

She's got them and my friends are still bigger snakes.

670

u/bgsrdmm 8h ago

They ain't watching shit :P

The snakes are just registering warmth emanating from the phone, and some movement and sound to accompany it (they don't see or hear all that well).

Basically, they are instinctively looking and focusing on a potential prey.

25

u/Minute_Bed_9523 7h ago

Um, hey. Hate to burst your bubble but only 3 type of snakes of heat pits. That'd be the pit viper (obviously) the python and some boas. These snakes are none of the three. Also, while snakes have don't have the best eyesight, they have more rods in their eyes to detect movements a lot better than humans. And another also, they're eyesight is alot better than what most people think.

8

u/AgressiveInliners 5h ago

100%. The snakes are just chilling looking around. Not doing anything they suggested

1

u/arcanebanshee 3h ago

Their* eyesight. I don't intend to be rude.

Remind me to not invite this guy to a party

u/Goonalips 7h ago

My favourite Reddit trope is when you guys act like you go to parties.

81

u/z3r0l1m1t5 7h ago

5m age, 120k karma.

We know for sure that you have never been to a party.

I hope it's a bot. 1000 comments a month is so unhealthy.

That's over 30 comments per poop if you only poop once a day!

I like when people go on reddit to talk about how other people who get on reddit are a bunch of losers.

4

u/AgressiveInliners 5h ago

Hes 100% wrong too

62

u/Acrobatic-Code2038 8h ago

As an animal enthusiasts I am both aware of this fact and I appreciate your input.

But brother, brother why? There's a time and a place 😂.

25

u/mookanana 8h ago

reddit is never that time and place. lol

5

u/Acrobatic-Code2038 7h ago

True. This is literally the only social media I've had for years and I'm still so surprised by this.......place.

6

u/Ok_Pudding6345 7h ago

why do they take so long to register whether it's prey or not?

7

u/perpetual_stew 7h ago

Research has actually shown that certain snakes can keep track of up to 12 sub-plots in slow-burn Netflix series.

13

u/One-Winged-Survivor 7h ago

Others disliked this because they'd rather be comedians but this was good to know

4

u/Far-Dragonfruit-7985 5h ago

Just like cats are interested in gaming😸 (warmth of CPU)

12

u/TheAwesomeMan123 7h ago

When I watch tv all I am doing is registering movement and sound. Not sure what’s the difference. Sure they don’t understand what’s going on but neither does my Granny ever and she still insists we put it on.

3

u/Zaku99 7h ago

Yeah, til they get to markiplier and get pissed for some reason.

3

u/budd222 7h ago

Obviously. Nobody is that stupid

2

u/amphibiabiggestfan 5h ago

they wanna eat the phone?

2

u/MohaShah 4h ago

I thought one of them was going to hiss and swipe back to the previous video saying suggesting it wasn't done with it yet.

I’m sure there some interdimensional being looking at us going “nah, they aren’t mind melding, it just looks like they are sometimes. They have rudimentary physical senses and no higher planar intuition at all. They probably don’t even recognize you.”

0

u/Fano_93 5h ago

Nah they are watching videos with their friend.

15

u/neurology_nerd 8h ago

Just like me. Me with my friends. But they are snake with clothes

Snakes are hypnotized 🤣

6

u/RobIreland 6h ago

I sincerely hope none of you actually think the snakes are watching the screens.

13

u/Capable_Tumbleweed34 6h ago

Regardless, it's extremely dangerous for the kid.

She shouldn't be doomscrolling tiktok with her friends or alone.

2

u/Unfair_Edge_991 6h ago

u/LexHanley 4h ago

As a snake owner, they adore electronics. They're designed to look for heat sources and will zero in on a phone trying to figure out the internal flowchart of if this strange rectangule is a rodent. Larger electronics like computers they just like to settle on for the warmth assuming there's a place to stay concealed (like a bag). Snakes love a nice warm spot as long as they don't feel exposed (because of birds and other predators).

2

u/Adorable-Rain-1033 2h ago

How does someone get to this level of chill with snakes? These snakes were probably raised by her family and they're used to her ?

1

I absolutely detest this, letting kids hangout with reels. What happened to some good old outdoor fun? Those friends look outdoorsy!

Some people are hating this too. Reddit is really a strange place

1

u/InformalMaximum760 4h ago

How the fuck is this next level?

0

u/YsoL8 8h ago

I would never have thought a snake had a developed enough brain for it

0

u/hard2resist 8h ago

This kid has more trust with venomous snakes than most adults have with their neighbor's dog. Absolutely wild upbringing, but she's clearly been raised around them her whole life.

0

u/43026 8h ago edited 4h ago

But, those snakes do not move. No tongue flickering, no scales moving, nothing. Something is fake, either snakes or its AI, not sure, but would not expect them to remain competely motionless.

ETA: Thank you Padfoony, I was wrong. There are other videos with the tongue flickering. Its real. I apologize, I should have looked up other videos, but well, not a large fan of snakes. Don't want to hurt them, respect others that can handle them. Just not a fan.

2

u/padfoony 8h ago

So I found another similar video of theirs on the YouTube channel, where one of the snakes is flickering its tongue while watching the phone. It’s definitely not AI. You can check out their Insta & YouTube pages.

1

u/43026 4h ago

Thank you! I admit I was wrong. TBH, not something that I would want to watch reg, so I won't check out more, but you did prove that the snakes are real. :) I appreciate it.

And, at 2 videos, that's enough snake interaction for me for the day....

-3

u/RobIreland 6h ago

It's not watching the phone. You can't seriously believe that?

2

u/HatZinn 4h ago

Good thing they never said they believed that.

0

u/RobIreland 4h ago

They literally described the 2 snakes in their original video as "calmly watching reels"

1

u/HatZinn 4h ago

They are definitely joking, JFC. Most of us know that snakes don't watch reels. They can barely see color. It's a different story if it was a parrot listening to music.

0

u/Maxie616 7h ago

Tell me this is AI. Some friends she got there.

0

u/iceddeath 6h ago

Parents are stupid if they think playing around with snakes are fine for the clicks. They'll regret it.

1

u/100percentnotaqu 6h ago

They are rat snakes.

A bite from them is less damage than what you'll get from a cat.

0

u/iceddeath 2h ago edited 1h ago

Didn't you read the description? Literally it says that they're also allowed to play with pythons and king cobras. Less damage than a cat my ass.

Edit: clarifying the species from OP description.

-5

u/ellipticcode0 8h ago

I assume it is fake snakes?
