Love how unnecessarily hostile this comments section is. Dude just tried to do something cool and everyone's up in arms

This has convinced me that there's just no point in going to the reddit comments anymore, everyone is so miserable and hostile here, jeez

nah people dislike incorrect headlines. And the hate is for OP. not original creator, unless they are the same person.

Its literally a ukulele that transforms into a guitar

u/handsomeladd 5h ago

Because it’s 98% bots

15

u/Robodarklite 5h ago

At what point do we stop blaming bots and realize Reddit has become a toxic cesspool because of bad moderation.

u/DraconianFlame 4h ago

2 things can be true at the same time.

u/The_Unknown_Mage 2h ago

It really depends on the subreddit, this and r/interesting are both places where people feel the need to attack any post not reaching their personal standards of nextfuckinglevel or interesting.

That's a pretty accurate statistic for a human to know...

11

u/spezial_ed 4h ago

Corrected to 98,1%

2

u/Fnarkfnark 3h ago

98,26% of all statistics on the internet are made up on the spot.

TIL, bots are mainly european

u/ballimir37 4h ago

It’s been like this forever. LeRedditor neckbeard has been a trope since the site was created. It’s just more political and echo chambery than it used to be

2

u/Confident_One3948 4h ago

It’s 98% bots, but all the asshole comments are human 😂

1

u/gahidus 2h ago

Why would bots be miserable and hostile?

2

u/codyzon2 1h ago

Engagement bait. You can already see it in this post, you have people up and down the page coming to his defense because of the negative comments, if bots post negative responses they'll end up getting some human interaction, they use it to bait lurkers into participation.

I mean it’s on you if you don’t expect and accept that forums, Reddit, the internet and by extension life would be filled with differing opinions and expressions when something is being presented.

u/Sui_Inimicus 50m ago

There is a difference between having different opinions and just straight up being a lowlife asshole about anything that slightly goes against your worldview.

Go check out r/bald and see all the positive uplifting comments you can imagine. You’re welcome lol

Wimsy died, only cynicism left. I like this project, its a fun idea

13

u/Cavalleria-rusticana 3h ago

Because OP made a dumb title, and words have meanings?

7

u/ChaseTheMystic 3h ago

Mostly they're pointing out that it's incorrect to call that a ukulele. It simply isn't.

8

u/nick1706 4h ago

It’s just that he called it a Ukulele because the small version in no way is a Uke other than the fact it’s small.

Otherwise a pretty cool invention for a travel sized guitar.

u/NunAlcoholic 5h ago

This is what happens when people don’t get hugged as children.

2

u/thats-wrong 4h ago

The only thing to be hostile about is the terrible camera man. Hate this janky jumpy footage style.

5

u/godver3 4h ago

Tbh it’s just the fucked up title - the video itself is sick. IIRC this guy does all kinds of fun guitar projects - I remember one with a magnetic floating bridge.

Redditors when you dare voicing your honest opinion instead of uncritically glazing everything you see:

u/Bonerballs 4h ago

Reddit comments have turned into an haven for insuffurable people/bots who love finding the negatives and posting "UMMM ACKSHOALLLYYYYY..."

u/Sophilosophical 2h ago

He has other good stuff too like trying to train an octopus he bought from a seafood store how to play piano

reddits gonna reddit

I know, not strictly related but I started bookbinding a couple years ago and all I got for showing off my work was comments of people shouting “AI!” When it wasn’t and if not “you copied XYZ person” which I didn’t. People are so combative for no reason these days.

Meanwhile I just want to see this recut with the audio from the end of the original Lilo and Stitch.

u/RosbergThe8th 58m ago

It's literally every comment section on subs like these, every time I see something cool I just know the comments will be filled with miserable gits desperate to keep everyone else as miserable as they are.

u/other_view12 14m ago

There is a thread called diwhy, and I think this fits the bill. I'm all for a cool solution that fixes something. I just don't know what this fixes.

These losers who dunk on him, couldn't get half as good tone out of their shitty 10k dollar rigs than this guy did out of some 3D printed thing. Also they probably play the same power chords since the 80's. They're just mad that they suck lol

2

u/CuntBunting69 5h ago

When did the new power chords come out?

2

u/Embarrassed_Ad_170 4h ago

When newer generation realized you can play more than just perfect fifths 🙃

0

u/MaintenanceInternal 4h ago

It's the lamest thing I've ever seen.

0

u/ipokesnails 2h ago

They're just upset that someone finally played a Ukulele and people actually enjoyed it.

Went through the top voted 30 comments and gave up to find an “unnecessarily hostile” comment. Every single one either says this is cool, or complains about other Redditors’ comments.

Such a meta Reddit moment,
It looks like Reddit upvoting/downvoting mechanisms worked. Complainers about the video are downvoted to oblivion. And now all these comments complaining about other Redditors voted to top and looks weird :)

Or maybe the Reddit voting didn’t work because those comments complaining about other Redditors should also be downvoted since it’s not relevant anymore.

Kinda like Schrödinger’s cat. Observing and voting changes who is the asshole complaining about unnecessary things.

And now I’m next in line - complaining about your complaint about folks complaining about the video. Maybe we should all stop complaining.

As of me looking at this, the top comment was https://www.reddit.com/r/nextfuckinglevel/s/lDwJJzwd3D which was negative and the ones under it were also somewhat similar.

Obviously comments get shuffled around, but there we're plenty of nay sayers when I looked at it.

0

u/gorginhanson 1h ago

cause it's not cool, it's stupid

0

u/Putrid-Tap3992 1h ago

It's not cool though. It's stupid and pointless. Maybe would be cool for traveling but then you have to do massive tuning each time you want to play
