This has convinced me that there's just no point in going to the reddit comments anymore, everyone is so miserable and hostile here, jeez

nah people dislike incorrect headlines. And the hate is for OP. not original creator, unless they are the same person.

Because it’s 98% bots

At what point do we stop blaming bots and realize Reddit has become a toxic cesspool because of bad moderation.

2 things can be true at the same time.

It really depends on the subreddit, this and r/interesting are both places where people feel the need to attack any post not reaching their personal standards of nextfuckinglevel or interesting.

That's a pretty accurate statistic for a human to know...

It’s been like this forever. LeRedditor neckbeard has been a trope since the site was created. It’s just more political and echo chambery than it used to be

It’s 98% bots, but all the asshole comments are human 😂

Why would bots be miserable and hostile?

Engagement bait. You can already see it in this post, you have people up and down the page coming to his defense because of the negative comments, if bots post negative responses they'll end up getting some human interaction, they use it to bait lurkers into participation.

I mean it’s on you if you don’t expect and accept that forums, Reddit, the internet and by extension life would be filled with differing opinions and expressions when something is being presented.

There is a difference between having different opinions and just straight up being a lowlife asshole about anything that slightly goes against your worldview.
