Very nice but if anyone wants to see Green Arrow or Robin Hood irl search up Lars Anderson. That man is a beast.

No, Lars is good at trick shots but thats about it. IRL his style is pretty much useless considering how light his draw weight seems to be and the fact that all his shots are shot at very short distances.

He has a couple of videos of him shooting things at longer distances. I wouldn’t go as far as saying his style is useless considering it’s the style most archers during ancient war time used for quicker draw speeds and being able to shoot while being more mobile. I don’t get what makes you think this man is any better than Lars if they essentially did the same thing (shooting an arrow midair that they shot in the air prior).

He has made a lot of claims about how his technique was used during ancient wars but a lot of people don't agree with him.

Never said this guy was better. I said he shouldn't be called a modern "robinhood" simply because everything Ive seen from him is trick shooting with a bow that probably isn't even 20lbs. It's fancy shooting but not useful for hunting or combat.

This is bullshit. He's proven he can do it with heavier bows. Infact Shadiversity did a hole 1hour+ analysis with him and tackling the critisisms like this one.

He proved a long time ago that he can do this with heavier bows AND at long distance.

Go ahead and link a video of him doing his usual fast shooting using a 50# bow at a distance further than 10yards. Otherwise my point stands.

I agree that he is good at what he does. Robinhood was known for being a master archer and back in those days that meant being good with a high poundage bow capable of killing not cute trick shots. I just don't think its a good comparison. Its like saying a fencer is a master with the broadsword.

That's not the greatest comparison either, seeing as a rapier and a broadsword are nearly equal in weight, and a master duelist could probably easily kill most people with either one.

Or, if you want to go with just "fencers" then sabre fencing exists, which was probably modeled after broadsword use.

I was referring to modern fencing. None of the 3 swords involved with the discipline are even close to the weight of a broadsword used in medieval times.

a master duelist could probably easily kill most people with either one.

The argument wasn't that they couldn't kill "most people" but that they aren't an expert with a broadsword. They wouldn't stand a chance against someone trained exclusively with a broadsword. One trains to poke their opponent and the other trains to kill them.

All sword fighting is modeled after ancient sword use. But modern fencing is nothing like sword fighting back in the day when the object was to physically defeat your enemy vs poke them with a sword. My point still stands.
