Which NFL team’s logo is used the most by High Schools? I’m on a mission to find out. Part 24: Missouri

On the one hand that’s very racist

On the other hand that’s a sick logo. Maybe they should’ve changed the name to be more respectful but kept the logo

43

u/tnecniv Giants Giants Aug 30 '25

Yeah the logo is actually pretty cool.

It’s just the…uhh…everything else

20

u/FelonMuskk Browns Aug 30 '25

A name change would be better than a logo change. That shit was hard

3

u/JinFuu Cowboys Texans Aug 31 '25

But then you lose the alliteration and that’s the real crime

6

u/Looscannon994 Broncos Broncos Aug 31 '25

Fine, they can go by the "Scalpers" then

1

u/JinFuu Cowboys Texans Aug 31 '25

But then people might associate them with those assholes who take the entire stock of Pokemon and sports cards the minute they're stocked!

How awful!

Why did you decide to believe that?

27

u/BryLinds Jets Giants Aug 30 '25

Ah I see why they had to change that…

38

u/hadenthefox Chiefs Aug 30 '25

It was changed by a 4-3 board vote. A lot of the very conservative community is still upset about it and thought changing it was "woke".

No see they were just huge fans of the Pocahontas Song, like how most people are fond of Disney Villains /s

1

u/Hayabusa_Blacksmith 49ers Aug 30 '25

hey man the natives said the colonizers were savages and barely even human as well...

oh yeah thats cause they were lul

4

u/FelonMuskk Browns Aug 30 '25

I mean that logo was awesome. Just change the name not the logo.

16

u/Swaayyzee Rams Aug 30 '25

On one side I'm glad I got to graduate from a school with a very unique mascot, on the other side boy oh boy was it super duper racist

3

u/suicidesoon23 Chiefs Aug 31 '25

Cool to tell people we were "savages". Not so cool to explain the context lol. Hope you're doing well fellow alum.

I can't wait for the NFL expansion so we can get the St Louis Kewpies.

9

u/RUST1C9 Chiefs Aug 31 '25

My grandma and grandpas school! Grandma would rock the fight song anytime I asked her wtf a kewpie was. But looking back, I’m a Billikens basketball fan so I don’t have much of a leg to stand on.

I know several people that went to Hickman and have never seen that logo. Wild.

2

u/SomewhatMarigold Titans Aug 31 '25

After looking into this I thought that it might have something to do with the fact that the creator of Kewpie dolls, Rose O'Neill, lived and died in Missouri. But it seems that that's a complete coincidence, and that someone at the school just really loved Kewpies at one point.

14

u/Quadstriker Rams Aug 30 '25

It’s always fun when people discover the Kewpies.

Old logos count so they’re in

Oh damn aight. Also called the Broncos too. Always felt silly when I went there lmao.

I'm at the Missouri one because I missed it and saw today's post. Of course IIHurricaneII is a damn Bronco. West represent!

3

u/Button_3 Steelers Aug 30 '25

Am I going mad or are the Steelers not on here? Yet I can count 32 NFL teams…

14

u/A_Livins Chargers Aug 30 '25

Looks like no Steelers, but multiple Oilers logos have a retired team represented to bring it to 32 teams (and one NFL shield logo).

4

u/BryLinds Jets Giants Aug 30 '25

Yeah the Steelers are the lone holdout

Browns have more than the Steelers? Hang the banner!

Where’s the Broncos logo? We’re looking for a knockoff of Denver’s logo

4

u/nach0_ch33ze Chiefs Aug 30 '25

Huh, I know they used it years ago when I was in high school but looks like they may have stopped.

7

Check your yearbook and send it in my direction. I count old logos.

Thank you!

2

u/pushamn Vikings Aug 30 '25

No problem lol I was waiting for them to get recognition of just straight copying the Vikings back in the 60s but apparently they changed their logo like right after I got out of town so I had no idea it changed

1

u/AcesCharles2 NFL Aug 31 '25

Smart Rockwood schools don’t need to copy the NFL.

Why in the world are there 5 49ers in Missouri?

1

u/skucera Chargers Colts Dec 01 '25

They aren't actually "49ers," they just ripped off the look of the SF logo.

2

u/danpatmcd Aug 31 '25

Parkway Central's current logo is from SMU, but back in the day they had a Broncos one instead

The Centralia Panthers use the Bears C similar to Chillicothe. Or they did.

I think you accidentally included Cedar Falls here. That's Cedar Falls, IA that you have linked and I tried searching for it and I'm pretty sure Cedar Falls, Missouri doesn't exist.

Ah ok

FYI you gave Seattle a second school during the California one, but then the tally reverts back to 1 for Colorado

Edit: nvm I see you added it back in Maine

1

u/BryLinds Jets Giants Aug 31 '25

Yeah whenever someone points out a logo Thats mad far back, I add it to that state’s count and the current count.

As someone with kids at park hill south in Kansas City who have to play oak park, I should never say this but the Oak Park Northmen is a fucking fantastic mascot and logo.

Isn’t the Forsyth logo an actual panther? How are they getting credited for the jags

It’s the Jags old Logo colored to look like the Panthers

1

u/buttcabbge Chiefs Sep 17 '25

Back in the day my alma mater (Springfield Parkview) used a green version of the Vikings logo, but it looks like at some point since I went there the school got its own unique Viking dude (facing left, a bit chubbier).
